Suge Knight Says He Knows Who Killed Tupac
Knight also claims the rapper wasn't the target
More than 20 years after rapper Tupac Shakur was murdered in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas, the man who was sitting next to him says he knows who was behind the hit.
The lawyer for former Death Row Records CEO Suge Knight says, according to an affidavit, that Knight's ex-wife, Sharitha, and Death Row security chief Reggie Wright, Jr. were behind the shooting. Also, according to the affidavit, it was Knight himself who was the intended target. Suge claims, through lawyer Thaddeus Culpepper, that the pair sought to kill Knight and take over the monumentally successful record label.
The theory has been around for awhile, but for the first time ever sources are saying that Knight has told Culpepper that these theories are true. Whether he was the target or not, Tupac was shot in Las Vegas on September 7, 1996 while riding in a car that Knight was driving. He died six days later.
Knight is currently in prison awaiting trial for murder.
