Several Carolina Panthers used their platform as professional athletes Thursday, addressing the fatal police shooting in Charlotte

Panthers fullback Mike Tolbert said:

first and foremost I'm a black man I have a son who is going to be a black man so I can honestly feel with my race but at the same time I understand the flip side my trainer is a San Diego PD Officer so understand where they're coming from but you can't control everybody's  actions they are not all bad cops  honestly I know that and you can't control everyones actions  same thing with civilians there's a healthy balance of wrong but enough is enough but hopfully Sunday’s game would stay in Charlotte as scheduled and  return a “sense of normalcy” to the community and provide it with a bit of “joy.
