Welcome to the blog of B Daht Obama! I've taken a new approach to MY blogs - I write letters to people. Hopefully one day some of the people can actually read the letters I write. If you have an idea of a letter you'd like me to write to someone (they don't HAVE to be in Sports) send it to theescore@yahoo. Hope you enjoy, and comments are STRONGLY encouraged!
Need a little more B DAHT to get through your day? Well, this is my take on ridiculousness that I see from time to time. I be SO sleep on some of y'all! Hope you enjoy Episode 1 of #ImSleepDoe
The most heralded recruit, maybe since LBJ, is Andrew Wiggins.
He's 6'8, and can play the 2(SG), 3(SF) or 4(PF).
His Final 4 choices are:
1. Florida State University: His mother ran Track there and his Father is the All Time Leading Scorer in Basketball. Problem? FSU ain't competing for a Championship. If you're going to play ONLY ONE YEAR of Collegiate Hoops, might as well play for a team making a run to Arlington Texas next year for the NCAA Championship in Cowboys Stadium.
2. Kansas: They've just lost Ben McLemore to the 2013 NBA Draft, so, they could use a Superstar. They 3 games for competing in another National Championship, and i'm sure Coach Bill Self will use that in his final pitch, when he see's Andrew Wiggins on April 23rd.
3. Kentucky: The Wildcats have 6 McDonald's All Americans coming in, and boast "The #1 Recruiting Class of 2013". This may be their downfall though. Going to Kentucky, with so many high caliber players, it's not 100% that Andrew Wiggins would be the "Go-To Guy"; too many ego's.
And then, there stands Us.... UNC: We just lost Reggie Bullock, our sharp-shooter, to the 2013 NBA Draft. He would come in and be an immediate impact player, in essence, our "Go-To Guy". It would allow Reggie to play the 2, Paige at the 1, Wiggs at the 3, JMM at the 4, and Joel James at the 5 (as it stands now, or Hubert, or Brice... eh.)
Another advantage UNC has? Jabari Parker. Where Andrew Wiggins is the #1 Overall Recruit in the Class of 2013, Jabari Parker is #2. Jabari and Andrew are good friends and it's well-known that Jabari will be a Duke Blue Devil next Season.
Therefore, I think his 2 choices are: UNC and Kansas, and where he can compete for a NAtional Championship with either team, he can only play against his Best Friend, twice, with one.
Here's a look at why Andrew Wiggins is so highly recruited:
