Papa John's Pizza apparently won't stand for racism. The pizza chain fired a cashier at one of their New York restaurants and apologized to an Asian-American customer after that cashier issued her a receipt that listed her as "lady chinky eyes."
The company posted a statement on their Facebook page on Saturday that read, "We were extremely concerned to learn of the receipt issued in New York."
The subject of the racist receipt was Minhee Cho, a communications manager at the nonprofit investigative journalism outfit known as ProPublica. Cho posted a photo of the receipt -- along with the message "just FYI my name isn't 'lady chinky eyes'" -- on Saturday morning and it soon went viral.
