Piers Morgan Calls Bobby Brown ?Disrespectful,? Rev. Jesse Jackson Defends S

CNN anchor Piers Morgan addressed Bobby Brown’s appearance at Whitney Houston’s funeral today, labeling the singers actions “disrespectful” for leaving.

Piers Morgan made the comment at the end of Whitney Houston’s funeral, as attendees left the New Baptist Hope church in Newark, New Jersey.

Morgan, who did not attend the funeral, seemed to trash Bobby Brown in front of a national audience.

Bobby Brown defended his choice to leave, saying that although he was harassed by security and is “distraught” over the incident, he chose to leave quietly, to prevent creating a scene.

“My children and I were invited to the funeral of my ex-wife Whitney Houston. We were seated by security and then subsequently asked to move on three separate occasions,” Bobby Brown said in a statement. “I fail to understand why security treated my family this way and continue to ask us and no one else to move. Security then prevented me from attempting to see my daughter Bobbi-Kristina. In light of the events, I gave a kiss to the casket of my ex-wife and departed as I refused to create a scene. My children are completely distraught over the events. This was a day to honor Whitney. I doubt Whitney would have wanted this to occur. I will continue to pay my respects to my ex-wife the best way I know how.”

CNN’s Don Lemon cleared up the controversy, during an interview with the Reverend Jesse Jackson, who sat on the stage for Houston’s entire funeral.

According to Rev. Jackson, Whitney Houston’s family did not accommodate Bobby Brown and members of his entourage, prompting the R&B singer to leave his ex-wife’s funeral.

“They wanted him to move, and I don’t think they made proper accommodations for him,” Rev. Jackson told CNN’s Don Lemon. “They couldn’t make proper accommodations for him, so they asked him to leave. That was a very difficult moment for all of us. I tried to get him to stay, but they wouldn’t make room for him.”

Rev. Jackson confirmed that Bobby Brown left the funeral quietly and peacefully, despite growing reports that there was some sort of altercation

“He came, he said in the front row, but they said that was reserved for family of which is a part and a real sense,” Rev. Jackson said. “He is Bobbi-Kristina’s father, and she [Whitney] was his wife. To me it seemed they could’ve accommodated him better then they did.”

Bobby Brown has had a history of bad blood with Whitney Houston’s family, because the family believes the singers drug and alcohol addiction help enable Whitney Houston.

Mayor Cory Booker said police are investigating the matter.

disrespect
That's so wrong to send away the man she had loved for so many years, and her step children; for the security to send him and his children away was disrespectful. No one person can fully actual blame Bobby for her addiction, they were entertainer's and thats a high profile life i just believe the drugs was away to escape the pressure. Instead of being caught up with her addiction everyone should honor her memory. Smh, I just wished they would've honored her memory nd left bobby alone. May she REST IN PEACE!!! Peaceful solution?
After hearing both sides of the story, I am wondering if his entire 9 person entourage tried to sit on the front row. It seems that a peaceful solution might have been reached had his entourage stayed outside (or in the very back f the church) & allowed just a few - perhaps him, his wife & children - to sit in the 2nd row.

Setting the record straight
Everyone wanted to blame Bobby Brown for Whitney's addiction, but Whitney had been using drugs a long time before she met Bobby, early in her career. People are killing me about this whole situation. Everyone makes had made mistakes and walked down the wrong path, so who are we to criticize. Some people are sad and lonely people even though they are surrounded by people they love and those are facts. She loved him but they both realized being together was toxic. They had a child together they both loved. So having him at the funeral should have been expected. The "entourage" was his children and some of Whitney's nieces and nephews on Bobby's side.

That was wrong on the family to do that to Bobby. I love Whitney and I'll never disrespect her during this difficult time, but she was her own person and I heard she was introduced to this type of lifestyle way before meeting Bobby. This is Whitney's mom doing all of this. That is why Whitney could not deal with her at times. It is very sad he was treated like that, very sad. Bobbi Kristina is 18 and able to decide on her own, so that tells me she wanted nothing to do with him either.

Regardless as to how the "family" may have looked @ Bobby....Whitney STILL loved that man & he STILL loved her VERY MUCH! I honestly believe that though Bobby moved on to someone else & Whitney dated, after years of them BOTH being clean...they WERE going to end up back together! They may not have needed to, but love is love & her family knew tht they never fell out of love! He & the children should have been allowed to sit w/ the family...plain & simple because they ARE "WHITNEY'S FAMILY"....that was just rude & completely disrespectful to treat Bobby & the children as such! But it's over now & regardless as to where anyone sat etc...it is not going to bring Whitney back. It's a very sad time for many people & that included Bobby & his children...Whitney never treated them any different from Bobbi Kristina. Those were here children as well! Let's just focus on Whitney's memory & let all the negative things go! None of us were there so really...we don't know what happened! I had the please of talking to Bobby & his family @ Darylls on Fri before the concert & that man is HURTING!!! Give him a break!

CISSY GOD FORGIVE US EVERYDAY, AND YOU SHOULD KNOW THAT WHY NOT FORGIVE BOBBY, THIS MAKE ONE THINK THAT YOU ONLY SANG GOSPEL FOR THE MONEY BUT AS YOU SEE MONEY CAN KILL. CISSY THIS WAS WHITNEY DAY NOT YOURS CONTROL YOUR SITUATION ON YOUR DAY. IF YOU CARED SO MUCH YOU WOULD HAVE KNOWN WHAT YOUR DAUGHTER WAS GOING THROUGH AND BEEN THERE THEN. YOU WAITED TO LATE TO EXHALE. SHE WAS NOT HAPPY IN LIFE BUT SHE LOVED BOBBY AND SHE DIED LOVING HIM, YOU DID NOT MAKE YOUR POINT. WHITNEY LOVED HIM IN LIFE AND SHE IN HEAVEN STILL LOVING HIM, AND HE STILL LOVING HER.
