I wanted to put this post up as soon as the shooting happened
but my heart wouldnt allow me to.
I cried so much this weekend, not just as a radio host but most importantly as a Mother & a human being.
There was so much confusion at first as, news channel werent sure if the shooters name was Ryan Lanza or
Adam Lanza. It was later confirmed that the shooter was 20 yr old Adam Lanza who took his own life after murdering his mother,
her co-workers & kindergarteners.
To know that someone knew exactly what he was going to do, is sick!
He forced his way into the school.
When inside the school he saw Victoria Soto, a teacher who hid her students in cabinets,
Adam asked her "where are the children" she told him in the gym, he then took her life.
She gave her life for her students!
Adam went to that school KNOWING he was there to hurt the children! He aske for them!
Those children woke up that morning, got out their warm beds, brushed their teeth,
might have been running a lil late for school, rushed to eat their breakfast,
hugged or kissed thier parents. NOT knowing that that day would be their last day!
It didnt hit me of their ages, me knowing that they were in kindergarten their height, weight, age number didnt
hit me until my 4 yr old ran past the TV. It was then i broke down!
This weekend in my subdivision every one lit candles in rememberance of those taken way too soon. It may not be enough
but its enough to let Newtown CT know we too hear your cries. We wish we all could fix this. We are hugging you though we
arent with you & we will continue to pray for you!
As Im going through many tears for the families, the mothers, the fathers, the brothers, the sisters and other family members of
those taken. My boyfriend calls asking about Christmas gifts & whats left to purchase.
It then hit me..while were opening gifts this Christmas. These families will be burying their babies!
I know there are no words that can comfort those in Newtown CT, my Home state, but what we all
can do is pray!
