Master P owes California for unpaid taxes in 1999 and 2000.
Master P has joined the ever-growing list of emcees to owe back taxes.
TMZ reports that P has been hit with liens for unpaid California taxes in 1999 and 2000, according to documents filed by the state tax board.
The documents indicate Master P owes $237,027.41.
Master P built his estimated $350 million net worth through his No Limit Records, a label that was extremely popular in the late '90s. The label featured artists such as Mystikal, Mia X, Silkk the Shocker and C-Murder, and was the first label home for Snoop Dogg post-Death Row Records. The company filed for bankruptcy in December 2003, after which point Master P sold its catalogue.
Master P also dabbled in film and television, sports representation (notably negotiating a disastrous rookie NFL contract for running back Ricky Williams), and various other business investments.
Other artists to have been in tax trouble in recent years include Method Man, Lil Wayne, Bow Wow, Beanie Sigel, R. Kelly, Nas, Sean Garrett, Yougn Buck, Dame Dash, and Swizz Beatz, among others.
