Back in May Big Sean joined Mtvs Sway, where he chatted about rappers who were duplicating his “Supa Dupa” punch line flow (aka hashtag rap). In an earlier interview with AllHipHop, Drake—who credits Sean with introducing him to the style, made popular on tracks like “Forever”—called out Ludacris, in particular, for an unsuccessful attempt at copying the style on the single “My Chick Bad” ("Comin' down the street like a parade/Macy's!") Luda clearly hasn’t forgotten the jab, because on the new single “Bada Boom” from his 1.21 Gigawatts: Back To the First Time mixtape the ATL rapper takes a few shots at Big Sean and Drake.

Although Ludacris doesn’t drop names on the track, it’s not difficult to figure out who he’s aiming at, especially since he references the “My Chick Bad” controversy.

"Counterfeit rappers say I'm stealing they flows, but I can't steal what you never made up b-tch/Y'all some duplicate rap cloning ni--as/I manufacture you h*es put on your makeup b-tch. ... May not like the way I used it, but you know you ain't invent it, boy/Do your research before you make a claim so bogus that's disrespecting pioneers in the game. 'My Chick Bad' went platinum, still winning m-th-rf-ck-r!"

“History Lesson,” another cut from the mixtape, is also a literal history lesson, featuring clipped lines from rappers such as Method Man and Cam’ron, demonstrating earlier uses of the “Punch Line” flow.
