Wayne reiterated his retirement plans once again during an interview with MTV News. The New Orleans native added that the only way he would be willingly to record another solo album after C5 is if he is paid on the level of Kobe Bryant’s salary.
“25 to 35 million would get me to do another solo album after this,” said Wayne. “I didn’t smile when I said it.”
The “A Milli” rapper is willingly to contribute to future collaborative projects like Young Money’s Rise of An Empire released this week, but he made it clear the next installment in Tha Carter series will absolutely be the last.
“I personally plan on this being my final solo album, yes and it’s definitely the finalCarter album. It’s the final Carter album. It’s stopping at five,” added Wayne. “The reason being is because the way I’m working on this album, to me, it seems like it will be impossible for me to work this hard again for anything else.”
