D. Woods considers if she would be interested in partaking in the Danity Kane reunion without Diddy, Bad Boy, or a heads up phone-call.
Last week, news surfaced of four of the the five founding members of Danity Kane meeting in Los Angeles, California, presumably to announce a reunion. The quartet of Aubrey O'Day, Shannon Bex, Dawn Richard and Aundrea Fimbres met without member D. Woods. Interviewed by Detroit, Michigan's HOT 107.9 #GlamRadio show with Bijou Star, D. Woods revealed her own discovery of the news. "I was surprised myself. [Laughs] However, after seeing the pictures, seeing the clip of the video, I saw that [Danity Kane was] in Los Angeles; I am not in Los Angeles, so there goes the reason why I am not in the picture. [Laughs] I'm actually in Atlanta right now." Woods added that she's currently in rehearsals for the theatrical production, Rebirth. The former Bad Boy Records artist studied Theater as an undergrad at New York University.
D. added, "I found out when my timeline went off the chain." Asked about bad blood within the former MTV competition-reality cast-turned-band, "We did go our separate ways back in fall of '08. Since then, I've really been putting my energies into these different projects." Having followed O'Day in her late 2008 early-departure from the group after two #1 albums, she continued, "I'm gonna support them as I've always supported them, and I hope that they'll support me."
Woods was also pressed about potential legalities that Danity Kane might face by reuniting without the involvement of mentor Diddy or Bad Boy Worldwide. "We as a group came up with that name," revealed the 28 year-old. Asked if she would consider seeking royalties, given her own perceived rights to the group name, Woods answered, "I'm not spiteful; I'm not tryin' to come get some...that's theirs; I got mine over here."
Asked if she would like to be included in the reunion plans, the Woodgrane Entertainment founder noted, "I would definitely consider it," but she would have to review her acting schedule.
