Chris Davis is Austin Rivers, of Auburn
During the Iron Bowl, I was hosting an event in Salisbury. Twitter was my only source of information. I remember my homie BA showing me his ESPN app, and being very happy the game was tied at 28, with :01 second on the clock. "We going to overtime, cuh!" I remember him exclaiming. He was rooting for Auburn, I on the other hand, enjoy the tradition of the tide, found myself rooting for Saban.
I pull up my Twitter, and all I see are tweets that read:
"Did you just see that?!?"
"That didn't just happen..."
"Roll. Tears. Roll!!"
I immediately say, "BA, I think Auburn won, cuh..." We are both super shocked and have NO CLUE how this could have happened. We JUST looked at the App and 'Bama had the ball with :01 left in the game! How did Auburn win 34-28???
that's how; and I missed it. Unbelievable.
As a Tar Heel fan, I can understand the hurt the Alabama faithful felt that day. The Alabama vs. Auburn Rivalry in football is the equivalent to UNC vs. Duke in basketball. Maybe bigger. You ever been to Alabama? The line is drawn in the sand. Roll Tide Roll, or War Hawk. Period.
I remember being in my Man Cave, hosting my annual "Us. vs. them" Party for the Carolina vs. Duke game. We were outnumbering the Duke fans, so, I wasn't AS boastful as I would have been if the numbers had been equal. UNC was winning the entire game, man. Tyler Zeller misses a free throw and we're only up 2 points, then this happened....
I feel your pain 'Bama fans.
