According to a new rumor, that ain’t so new, Missy Elliot beat down Trina a ways back. The situation was played out in a “blind” rumor that wasn’t hardly blind. Read it below.
Missy Elliot is said to have gotten a mean dose of this lady lyricist’s insatiable need for NaNa … before telling our blind item subject to kick rocks.
A source reveals, back when our mystery woman was dating Missy, the ‘Supa Dupa Fly’ one once missed a flight … only to return to the Miami condo she bought for our “Baddest B*#@*” blind item to discover her “in bed with two str*ppers from the Rolex Gentlemen’s club.”
“Missy whooped her ass, kicked her out of their Yacht Club at Portotino condo … butt naked … and threw all of her s*#@ in the elevator.”
Today, our blind item subject has a new sponsor — French Montana, who she recently dissed by denying her relationship with him. Know why? Because French Montana’s bank roll is too low to keep our blind item subject satisfied.
I didn’t know who they were talking about until the end. Now, I in no way endorse this business, but is sure puts a gangsta side on Madam Elliot, who we have been waiting for forever to come back.
J. Cole more concerned with fan reaction than album sales, speaks on upcoming What Dreams May Come Tour.
Now that TLC members Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins and Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas have lent their assistance on J. Cole’sBorn Sinner album, the North Carolina rapper is planning to return the favor on the group’s upcoming project.
While speaking with Billboard.com backstage at the iHeartRadio Music Festival over the weekend, Cole touched on his “Crooked Smile” collab with TLC and expressed his excitement at the possibility of working with the pair on their next album.
“I was such a fan of theirs growing up," said Cole, who brought TLC out to perform "Crooked Smile" at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas this weekend. "I still am. It’s like when I made ‘Crooked Smile,’ I instantly thought of them because not only did I miss their voice, but they had these huge positive records, like ‘Unpretty’ and ‘Waterfalls.’ And I was just like, ‘Man, it makes too much sense. I gotta have them on a song like ‘Crooked Smile.’'
"I got some production on the album that they doing," Cole continued. "What we really planning on doing is to really go in and lock in. Cause as a producer I know what I can give them. I know what I can bring them. And I know what they need. They don’t need me, but I’ll give them my best material.”
Due to the Born Sinner creator’s What Dreams May Come Tour, J. Cole's possible contribution to TLC’s upcoming album is still up in the air. Cole spoke on the Wale-assisted tour, What Dreams May Come, which was inspired by the 1998 film of the same name, a motion picture starring Robin Williams and Cuba Gooding Jr.
“Born Sinner was based on that movie, conceptually," Cole said. "'Cause if you listen to the album, it’s literally like you go to hell. You’re starting off in hell and you’re trying to make it to heaven. And the tour is the same way, so that’s why we called it What Dreams May Come."
Cole also revealed that he plans on making a stop in New York soon, though no date has been confirmed.
"There’s certain places you just gotta go," Cole said. "It’s even other places that I’m not going that I wish I was going, but New York is one of those ones we definitely gonna come see. I just can’t announce anything for a few weeks.”
Lastly, Cole addressed album sales for his sophomore effort, Born Sinner. Despite outselling a number of top Rap albums this year, he said he’s more concerned with the response from fans.
“It feels good,” Cole said. “Sales are a nice bonus to the reaction. I’m really just grateful about the reaction and the love and appreciating that. Sales are like a great bonus behind that…I would love to hit platinum. That’d be amazing.”
Drake also says Kendrick Lamar went halfway with his verse on Big Sean's "Control."
Drake has spoken about Kendrick Lamar's verse on Big Sean's "Control." Drake addressed the matter during an interview for CRWN with Elliott Wilson in New York University's Skirball Center.
“That ['Control'] verse was a moment to talk about," Drake said, as reported by Miss Info and Vibe. "Are you listening to it now, though?”
Drake, who said it was "all love" when he saw Lamar days later, also explained why he lost respect for "the sentiments" behind Kendrick Lamar's verse on "Control."
"He didn’t come in there on some wild, ‘I’m in New York, fuck everybody.’ I almost wish he had come in there on that shit because I kind of lost a little bit of respect for the sentiment of the verse,” Drake said. “If it’s really ‘fuck everybody’ then it needs to be ‘fuck everybody’. It can’t just be halfway.”
Drake also addressed the Kendrick Lamar verse in a recent interview with Billboard.
"I didn't really have anything to say about it," Drake said. "It just sounded like an ambitious thought to me...I know good and well that Kendrick's not murdering me, at all, in any platform...When that day presents itself, I guess we can revisit the topic."
The CRWN interview, filmed over the weekend, has not aired. Part 1 of the CRWN interview series presented by Myspace will air on myspace.com Wednesday, September 25. It will air in 3 parts. Past CRWN interviews were done with J. Cole and Macklemore.
Either Chris Brown has been listening to Jay Z’s ”Guilty Until Proven Innocent” or he still harbors resentment, because the troubled R&B singer spoke extremely candid with JET Magazine.
In excerpts from the upcoming Jet Magazine interview, Brown speaks on the hypocrisy over the media attention given his assault on Rihanna in comparison to that of Jay Z’s 1999 stabbing of Lance “Un” Rivera:
No disrespect, because I’m a fan, but nobody brings up the fact that [Jay Z] stabbed somebody and sold drugs. He gets a pass.
I identify with Trayvon 100 percent as far as living in 2013 and still dealing with blatant racism. This generation is so used to racism that it’s normal; we don’t care. We aren’t on drugs or catching AIDS, but they still look at us as ni**as.

Tyga’s got another lawsuit to contend with, stemming from an alleged sexual assault by a person in a rabbit suit.
Allison Brown charges that she was invited to the set of Tyga’s video to be a vixen at a shoot in a Hollywood Hills mansion. She says she was grabbed by a person in a rabbit suit, who proceeded to grind on her from behind. Upon trying to leave, another man grabbed her breast.
Brown also claims Young Money Entertainment gave her liquor when production started, but she was underage at 20.
Eventually, she says was forced to take her top off, exposing her breasts. She claims that he was told that her nipples would not be included in the final edit for “Make It Nasty.”
Brown has charged Brown with sexual battery, fraud, invasion of privacy, and infliction of emotional distress, according toTMZ.
Three other women have sued Tyga in a similar fashion.
TMZ reports that will.i.am sent Skateboard P a cease and desist letter informing P that he owns everything with a right to "I Am." In response, Pharrell appears to be suing will.i.am to prevent him from suing the Neptunes member.
In the suit, Pharrell argues that his use of "I Am" differs completely from will.i.am's use, in that the Black Eyed Peas frontman's use is akin to Dr. Suess' use in the beloved children's book "Green Eggs and Ham," which features a character named Sam I Am.
"In contrast, the I Am Other mark means 'I am something else,' leaving what that 'else' is to the imagination of the consumer," reads the suit. "It certainly does not mean 'I am Will.'"
Pharrell is asking that the New York federal court judge to whom the suit was filed give Pharrell written permission to keep using the "I Am Other" trademark.
"I am disappointed that Will, a fellow artist, would file a case against me," said Pharrell in a statement after will.i.am's notice last week. "I am someone who likes to talk things out and, in fact, I attempted to do just that on many occasions. I am surprised in how this is being handled and I am confident that Will's trademark claims will ultimately be found to be as meritless and ridiculous as I do."
will.i.am has countersued Pharrell over the use of I AM in I AM OTHER, reports TMZ. will.i.am believes that the use of I AM in I AM OTHER may confuse listeners because of their similarity in styles and the fact that they are both on Interscope Records, according to TMZ.
To support his lawsuit, will.i.am has stated that Pharrell has copied several others, according to documents obtained by TMZ. An example of this cited by will.i.am includes Pharrell's work as a co-founder of Star Trak Entertainment, which is likely a reference to Star Trek. Another example is Pharrell's attempt to register a trademark for Pink Slime, which will claims is similar to Mattel's Slime.
will.i.am also notes that Pharrell is being sued by Marvin Gaye's family over his recent work with "Blurred Lines."
will.i.am is seeking an unspecified amount of money, according to TMZ.
The court documents show DMX’s estimated monthly income is $5,000 and that he has monthly expenses of $5,221, which include $1,000 on clothing and $500 on laundry and dry cleaning, as per wsj.com.
DMX says that the $1.4 million of assets in his name are tied to ongoing litigation, among other things, the story says.
The man born Earl Simmons also says under penalty of perjury that he has no personal property of any value, including no electronic equipment, no jewelry, no clothes and no cars, as per wsj.com.
The former Def Jam Recordings artist has several debts, as per the wsj.com. Among them are more than $1 million in unpaid domestic-support obligations that lead, in part, to his July filing for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy, the story says. DMX also owes unsecured creditors more than $475,000 and has a mortgage of more than $450,000 on a property in Mount Kisco, New York, according to wsj.com.
DMX’s bankruptcy case is scheduled for an October 8 case conference at the White Plains, New York, bankruptcy court, according to the wsj.com.
In July, The Wall Street Journalreported that the Yonkers, New York artist filed documents in Manhattan court stating that he has $50,000 in assets, while owing between $1 and $10 million in debts. DMX told authorities at the time that he filed for Chapter 11 “to enable me to reorganize my financial affairs.”
DMX's debts include more than $1 million in child support and more than $20,000 in automobile lease payments.
"DMX's financial strains have been inhibiting his career for several years," the rapper's publicist, Domenick Nati, told HipHopDX in July. "Poor financial management by prior representation have caused him to be ineligible to retain a passport. The purpose of this bankruptcy filing is for reorganization so he can perform for his fans oversees. We are currently planning a tour in Europe and Africa for the fall of 2013."
Kanye West dotes on his ability to make a "perfect" product, addresses criticism from fans.
Noted Chicago lyricist Kanye West may have offered up a few, rare details on his personal life during a nearly hour-long interview with the “Kris Jenner Show” a few weeks back, but with the release of an upcoming interview with BBC Radio 1 personality Zane Lowe, Kanye will now speak in-depth on his music.
A preview of the interview with Lowe, which was posted on YouTube earlier today, lasts less than a minute, but in it ‘Ye touches on My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, being the “number one rock star,” and criticism from others.
“You know Dark Fantasy could be considered to be perfect,” Kanye said. “I know how to make perfect, but that’s not what I’m here to do… We the real rock stars and I’m the biggest of all of ‘em. I’m the number one rock star on the planet.”
Additionally, Kanye seemed well aware of the criticism, which seems to always find its way to the G.O.O.D. Music artist.
“People [aren’t] gonna look at this interview and say ‘Hey, I understand what he’s talking about.’ People are gonna look at this interview and say, ‘I don’t like Kanye. Look, he looks mad. I don’t like his teeth,” said the Yeezus rapper.
Although a Kanye interview is still a rarity, the rapper has taken part in the occasional interview this year especially given the release of his sixth studio album, Yeezus. This year, Kanye most notably chopped it up with W Magazine and the New York Times’ Jon Caramanica. In his interview with the Times, he discussed his work with Rick Rubin and gave props to Hip Hop duo dead prez.
The Floyd Mayweather-Saul “Canelo” Alvarez junior middleweight unification fight set a pay-per-view revenue record, according to Showtime.
Saturday’s fight, won by Mayweather, has already grossed nearly $150 million in U.S. pay-per-view revenue, surpassing the previous record of $136 million generated by the Oscar De La Hoya-Mayweather fight in 2007.
According to Showtime, preliminary reports from distributors project 2.2 million buys, which could challenge the 2.48 million buys of the De La Hoya-Mayweather bout.
“My calculator is steaming,” said fight promoter Richard Schaefer, the chief executive of Golden Boy Promotions. “While the numbers are still coming in, I am confident in saying this will be the highest-grossing pay-per-view of all time, millions more than the record.”
The bout reportedly brought in a record $20 million live gate, with $2.6 million in closed-circuit sales in Las Vegas.
The fight with Alvarez was scheduled to be the second bout of Mayweather’s megadeal with Showtime/CBS. The 30-month deal was reported to be for up to six fights and worth in the $200 million neighborhood.
Personally, I didn’t even know that they were beefing or at least have issues with each other. On his new album, Drake says:
Paperwork takin’ too long, maybe they don’t understand me/
I’ll compromise if I have to, I gotta stay with the family./
Not even talkin’ to Nicki, communication is breakin’
I dropped the ball on some personal sh*t, I need to embrace it./
I’m honest, I make mistakes, I’d be the second to admit it /
Think that’s why I need her in my life, to check me when I’m trippin.’
Now, I know you guys see and hear more than I do these days. So, does anybody know what is going on with this? I bet, more than anything, its nothing but egos clashing or some rich dude stuff like that. These people don’t generally beef over things of substance. Drake be doing those “cry for help” raps so I’m sure this is the first step to them having a big make up session in front of like 50,000 people at The Barclay Center or something glamorous. This all played out on “Tuscan Leather,” which is one of the better tracks on Drake’s album.
Thomas Marrone, 55, was charged with driving drunk while riding a lawn mower down the street. The Pennsylvania man was driving the mower along the road at approximately 1:30 a.m. before being stopped y police.
Cops say Marrone wreaked of alcohol and had an open can of Coors Light beer in the mower’s storage compartment, reports AP. Marrone said he was driving to his home, 6.4 miles away. He faces a preliminary hearing Tuesday on charges including driving under the influence and driving with a suspended license.
Hold up, his license was suspended too?
So, most likely he thought that riding a lawn mower was the way around his license situation instead of just calling a friend or a cab. Not only that but he’s getting charged for “driving” under the influence but the vehicle was a lawn mower! Shouldn’t there be some special charge for this? Luckily he was on the road during a time when there probably weren’t many cars out but still…imagine how slow that thing was going and what that could have done to traffic.
The passing of iconic performer Whitney Houston in 2012 shocked the world, and now there are shocking allegations about one of the police officers at the scene of her death. Former Beverly Hills SWAT sergeant Brian Weir claims that Detective Terry Nutall made inappropriate comments about the dead singer’s body after lifting up a sheet to reveal her privates.
Nutall allegedly said Houston “looked attractive for a woman of her age and current state” and “Damn, she’s still looking good, huh?”
Weir filed a suit against the city of Beverly Hills, its police department, and police chief David Snowden alleging that he was unjustly punished for reporting the incident. According to the claim, Nutall not only made inappropriate comments about Houston, but he also potentially contaminated DNA, harmed the integrity of the scene, and treated the body in a way that would “outrage ordinary family sensibilities.”
Weir says after he reported the incident to his superiors, the Beverly Hills Police Department punished him by removing him from the SWAT and K-9 units. He also claims that he was harassed by individuals in the department.
Beverly Hills PD’s LT. Lincoln Hoshino said that the department stands behind it’s investigation into Houston’s death “100%”.
Whitney Houston died of accidental drowning in a bathtub at the Beverly Hilton hotel on February 11, 2012. The coroner reported that it was likely the result of a heart attack caused by chronic cocaine use. She was 48 years old.
Jay Z is set to sell his stake in Brooklyn, New York's Barclays Center for $1.5 million.
Jay Z is set to sell his share in Barclays Center soon, according to various reports.
Jay Z helped in efforts to make the New Jersey Nets become the Brooklyn Nets. After helping that move, Jay Z began a new endeavor with Roc Nation Sports, an agency that has signed several athletes including Robinson Cano, Kevin Durant and Victor Cruz. This may be one reason that Jay Z has relinquished his ownership in the team, as NBA rules do not allow players and-or agents to own part of a team.
Jay Z recently sold the remaining part his stake in the Brooklyn Nets organization (one-fifteenth of one percent) to the team's new head coach, Jason Kidd.
Jay Z is said to own a little less than one-fifth of one percent of Barclays. The stake is valued at $1.5 million, according to Huffington Post.
Jay Z has discussed his stake in Barclays and the Nets.
"It doesn't matter what percentage [I own]," he said during a recent performance at Barclays, according to Huffington Post. "The story is that a Black kid from a single-parent house made it from [Marcy Projects] about six minutes away from here. So the fact that I have any ownership in this franchise is fucking amazing. The fact that I have any ownership in this venue is fucking amazing. Don't let them diminish your accomplishment or dim your shine. It's fucking amazing."
Jay Z has also explained his decision to move forward with Roc Nation Sports, as reported by MTV.
"It was never about an investment; it was about the Nets and Brooklyn," Jay Z said in April. "My job as an owner is over but as a fan it has just begun. I'm a Brooklyn Net forever. The Nets have made their mark on the NBA and as they enter a new era, Roc Nation does as well; as we embark on Roc Nation Sports."
A biographical movie about Tupac will be executive produced by his mother, Afeni Shakur.
Morgan Creek Productions and Emmett Furla Films are in final negotiations to partner on a Tupac biopic.
A press release from the two companies announced that the biopic will be produced by James G. Robinson, David Robinson and LT Hutton, along with Randall Emmett and George Furtla.
The film will be executive produced by the late rapper's mother, Afeni Shakur.
Production on the film is scheduled to begin in 2014 in Atlanta.
The movie centers on the life of Tupac, with the press release referring to Pac's "politically charged lyrics, inspired by his parents' activism as Black Panthers in the '60s and early '70s, condemned governmental intusion in black communities."
Tupac was shot several times on a street corner in Las Vegas, Nevada, on September 7, 1996. He would die six days later from his wounds. Pac's death came after a lengthy East Coast/West Coast rivalry, which would also go on to claim the life of The Notorious B.I.G. The murder remains unsolved.
Afeni Shakur has been involved in several projects relating to her son, including executive-producing his past two albums. In 2009, Morgan Creek sued Amaru Entertainment, alleging that the company, which was run by Afeni Shakur, reneged on an agreement to sell Tupac's life rights for a film adaptation. Since then, there have been numerous updates regarding a Tupac film, but nothing has materialized.
Waka Flocka Flame has finally addressed rumors that he and his fiancée, Tammy Rivera, have joined the cast ofLove & Hip-Hop Atlanta. He won’t be an official cast member but his fiancée will definitely be joining the popular VH1 show full time.
He told Power 105.1′sthe Breakfast Clubthat he “doesn’t really do reality TV,” but that we may be seeing him on one or two episodes.
Given the fact that his mom Debra Antney has made quite a few appearances on the show (and needs her own show) and that Mona Scott Young is quite enterprising and persuasive, I’m willing to bet that it will be more like three or four or five episodes, especially with impending nuptials coming up. You know us nosy people love watching weddings and rapper relationship drama unfold on reality TV.
Jay Z and Beyonce may have fired their bodyguard for some of his activities with a prostitute, according to a recent report.
Rumors had been circulating, but now mainstream publications have confirmed that Norman Oosterbroek hired a hooker while in service of the super star couple, which reportedly horrified them. Oosterbroek would also protect their daughter Blue Ivy as well.
Additionally, the pair allegedly discovered that Norman used their passport in a lewd manner, the New York Daily News reports.
“Beyoncé and Jay Z were furious when they found out,” said a source of the Daily News. “They trusted Norman with their lives and then he went and did some pretty freaky things, and on video with a hooker. They were outraged.”
The incident happened last year, according to reports and Oosterbroek was fired.
“They really thought Norman was now a danger to Blue Ivy,” says the source. “From what I understand he was devastated, because a lot of people in the industry knew that he couldn’t be trusted and not to hire him.”
After being fired, Oosterbroek became deeply depressed and allegedly began using drugs heavily.
The 6-foot 5-inch behemoth was slain by police last month in Miami for allegedly fighting neighbors while on drugs.
The Weeknd's "Kiss Land," 2 Chainz' "B.O.A.T.S. II: #MeTime" and Janelle Monae's "The Electric Lady" have strong placements on this week's charts.
This week, new additions placed in the Top 5 of Billboard's Top 200 album charts. Those new additions include The Weeknd's Kiss Land, 2 Chainz' B.O.A.T.S. II: #MeTime and Janelle Monae's The Electric Lady.
While new additions came in strong, last week's debuts fell a few slots. For example, Ariana Grande's Yours Truly fell from #1 to #9, Tamar Braxton's Love & War fell from #2 to #8 and John Legend's Love in the Future fell from #4 to #10.
It was the chart's mainstays who continued their reign in the Top 30. In its 10th week on the charts, Jay Z's Magna Carta Holy Grail, which has sold just over 974,000 copies to date, remained in the #18 spot it held last week. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' The Heist, which has sold over 1,069,000 copies to date, dropped from #27 to #30 in its 49th week on the charts.
The Weeknd Lands At #1 With Kiss Land
The Weeknd's Kiss Land hit #1 on the charts this week in a close race against Keith Urban, who landed at #2. Recently, The Weeknd spoke about the significance and theme of the album. "Kiss Land symbolizes the tour life, but it’s a world that I created in my head," The Weeknd said in an interview with Complex. "When I think about Kiss Land, I think about a terrifying place. It’s a place I’ve never been to before that I’m very unfamiliar with...A lot of it is inspired by filmmakers like John Carpenter, David Cronenberg, and Ridley Scott, because they know how to capture fear. That’s what Kiss Land is to me, an environment that’s just honest fear. I don’t know who I am right now and I’m doing all these outlandish things in these settings that I’m not familiar with. To me, it’s the most terrifying thing ever. So when you hear the screams in the record and you hear all these horror references and you feel scared, listen to the music because I want you to feel what I’m feeling. Kiss Land is like a horror movie."
2 Chainz Sails To #3 With B.O.A.T.S. II: #MeTime
2 Chainz returns to the charts with B.O.A.T.S. II: #MeTime, an album that landed at #3 this week. The project, which contains the Pharrell-assisted single "Feds Watching," was released through Def Jam and T.R.U. 2 Chainz also released a cookbook, with tour recipes, which accompanied the deluxe edition of the album. The album snuck into the Top 3 in its debut week, selling approximately 64,000 units. As the title suggests, B.O.A.T.S. II is a sequel to Based on a T.R.U. Story. By comparison, the first installment of this series sold approximately 147,000 units in its first week and it was #1 on the same charts.
Janelle Monae Electrifies At #5 With The Electric Lady
Janelle Monae's The Electric Lady, released via Bad Boy/Atlantic, landed at #5 on the charts. The album boasts various guest stars, including Esperanza Spalding, Solange, Miguel, Prince and Erykah Badu. Monae's success with Electric Lady follows 2010's THE ARCHANDROID. According to Monae, Electric Lady was inspired by various notable figures in the film industry. "George Lucas [influenced this album]," Monae said in a recent interview with Hitflix. "I performed at his wedding reception...I met him and I got a chance to speak with Steven Spielberg, and these are people whose ideas, you know, if they weren't able to make their movies, I don't think that I would have been able to articulate my thoughts [in music]. They kind of showed me how to do that, I just wanted to do it with music."
Kendrick Lamar says "Control" is about more than just challenging rappers to diss him. Instead, he says it's about pushing Hip Hop forward.
Although he has heard several responses to his verse on Big Sean's "Control," Kendrick Lamar says that he hopes listeners understand the meaning behind his lyrics on the selection.
"I think [rappers] just took it as a challenge," Lamar said during an interview with Arsenio Hall. "But you know the whole point of the thing is not just the challenge for the moment, challenge for the whole extension of this Hip Hop culture. Not just off the hype, but what we going to do after, what we going to do to challenge ourselves, how we're going to make better records, how we're going to push forward and innovate the next generation coming up rather than just sticking in the moment of the verse. That was the whole point of the joint and I hope everybody really gets the idea behind it.
According to K. Dot, the verse was just another example of something that he's been doing since he was younger.
"Yeah, it's just Rap," Kendrick said. "[It's] something I love to do, something I've been practicing since I was 13 years old. It's a reflection, not only in the verse but in my album, and what I've been putting down with TDE for years. It's just Rap [and] having fun...It's really just about having fun and finding new ways to challenge yourself and express yourself on records. Shout out to Big Sean for putting some crazy bars on that as well, and Jay Electronica. It's the culture. It's Hip Hop."
During the interview, Kendrick Lamar, who has said that King Los had the best "Control" response, also said that he has not been offended by any of the diss records that have come since "Control" was leaked. Lamar added that he has "no wounds" from the aftermath of the record.
Beyond speaking about "Control," Kendrick also recalled seeing Dr. Dre and Tupac when he was younger. According to Lamar, his father took him to a swapmeet where the video for "California Love" was being filmed.
"'California Love' video," Lamar said. "Dr. Dre and Tupac. It was at the Compton Swap Meet. My father seen them. I'm two minutes [away] at the house down the block. He came and grabbed me. It was pandemonium. He put me on his shoulders. I'm watching 'Pac and Dre right there, just conversing with all the beautiful people out in Compton. Fifteen years later or so, I get in the studio with Dre. I bring up that same situation. He says he remember that. Everything. He remember all the little kids out there. I said, 'Dre, I was one of them kids that was looking at you.'"
K-Ci & JoJo say that they’ve been recording new music with Jodeci and that the group never actually split.
“We are not getting back together, simple reason is we never broke up. We have a vault of CDs that we could just put out at any moment. But just like when Jodeci first came out, nobody expected that. And we’re just going to keep it that way,” K-Ci told Huffington Post Black Voices. “But for now, with the love from Mr. Dalvin and DeVante, they’re pushing me and JoJo. They’re like “do what you gotta do,” DeVante said; “I’m going to let y’all know when I’m ready. But y’all continue doing what y’all doing.” And actually, we’re in the studio right now. We record new Jodeci material every chance we get… So we’re just waiting on DeVante’s call.”
In the meantime though, K-Ci and JoJo are preparing to release their next album,My Brother’s Keeper.
Have you been feenin’ for some new Jodeci (pun intended)? Let’s not forget, they can actually saaaaang, no auto-tune needed.
After coming off a win Saturday night over Saul “Canelo” Alvarez, Floyd Mayweather took a loss last night when ameme posted to the boxing champ’s Instagram page took a shot at Alvarez’s promoter Oscar De La Hoya.
The picture featured De La Hoya’s face with the words “meanwhile in rehab” and “Oscar: I gave Canelo the wrong blueprint I was high.” De La Hoya checked himself into rehab for substance abuse prior to the Mayweather-Alvarez bout.
Mayweather has issued a statement apologizing for the post.
“I apologize to Oscar and his family for this posting. I wish him well and am rooting for him to win his fight too,” said Mayweather. “I also apologize to all of my followers for this ridiculous post. I have no ill-will towards anyone and have repeatedly stated that I only seek positivity in my life and for others.”
Mayweather also claims that the picture was not posted by him, and he did not give approval for the image to be uploaded to his Instagram account.
“It’s unfortunate that a stupid picture was posted to my Instagram account earlier today that was not posted by me or authorized by me to post,” stated Mayweather. “I completely support Oscar De La Hoya and his family during this difficult time in his life. Although we have had our differences in the past, I stand by him unconditionally and would never personally disrespect him or anyone else who struggles with addiction.”
In a recent interview withOyster Magazine, singer-songwriter Frank Ocean talks about his childhood days before the stardom. When asked whether he was bullied in school the Odd Future member says that he never had to worry about getting picked on because he was a “thug.”
“I was a thug,” said Ocean. “I sold a lot of cocaine and crack.”
When Oyster’s editor Zac Bayly asked the “Thinking Bout You” singer if he really sold drugs, Ocean responded, “all the time.” Bayly even followed up with a simple “really?” and Ocean gave a simple “yep.”
The interview also covered other parts of Ocean’s early life. The New Orleans native discussed not have any parental guidance for his budding creative endeavors as a child.
“As a young person I didn’t have, for lack of a better word, I didn’t have a Joe Jackson in my family,” said Ocean. “I didn’t even have a parent who encouraged what I did in that way.”
Ocean says that experience did help create a more “pure” attitude about his love for music and writing. Frank Ocean is set to display some of that musical love when he joins with his OFWGKTA comrades in November for the Odd Future Carnival.
Meek Mill questions why it took so long for rappers to respond to Kendrick Lamar's "Control" verse, refers to them as "soft."
Kendrick Lamar’s highly-praised addition to Big Sean’s “Control” may go down as a verse that sparked more of a social media war than a lyrical one. A number of Hip Hop veterans including Big Daddy Kane and Virginia rapper Skillz expressed their disbelief with rappers turning to Twitter rather than the studio upon hearing Kendrick’s “Control” verse. And Maybach Music Group spitter Meek Mill has become the latest artist to question why there was such a delay when it concerned artist’s responses to “Control.”
During an interview with Jay Z’s Life + Times, Meek Mill revealed that there’s no need to wait for an album to drop or meticulously plan out a response when an artist is called out on a record.
“Where I come from, somebody say ya name in a rap you get back at ‘em,” Meek explained. “Like you don’t wait til ya album come out. You don’t try to do no chess moves bullshit, no. If you rap, you get back at ‘em. And I don’t know what’s taking other niggas [so] long to get back at ‘em. These niggas be soft though…Nas say ‘Jay Z.’ Jay Z come at Nas. Kiss say ‘Beans.’ Beans come at him. Niggas go to the radio station and rap. I don’t know about all this new shit that’s going on.”
Meek went on to again express his “respect” for Kendrick Lamar, but didn’t seem as amiable when speaking on Cassidy, an artist he’s traded diss records with for quite some time. The Dreams And Nightmares rapper seemed particularly vexed when asked about Cassidy referencing the late Addarren “Lil Snupe” Ross on “Catch A Body.”
On “Catch A Body,” Cassidy raps, “I ain't broke chill, man I'm still worth a few mill/You remind me of Sisqo from Dru Hill/Fuck how you feel, you got Lil Snupe killed/And you only ride out on two wheels.” Lil Snupe was killed just months ago in Winnfield, Louisiana; he signed to Meek Mill’s Dream Chasers Records last year.
“I be going back and forth with Cassidy. I just do it cause I like that shit. I don’t earn nothing from coming at no Cassidy. I’m just having fun…I don’t gotta drop a diss rap to keep you popping. No, let’s let you die down. You know what I mean? Matter of fact, wake up, ‘I feel like coming at him today’…Yeah, that’s some bitch ass shit,” said Meek when asked about the Lil Snupe reference on “Catch A Body.” “You a bitch ass nigga. Don’t be talking about nobody that’s dead cause when you see me you ain’t gonna talk like that. So, why talk like that on a track? That’s disrespectful. Say if I see you one of my homies disrespect you. I ain’t gonna be able to hold nobody back. I ain’t holding nobody back. You sitting here talking about a dead man. I ain’t got nothing to do with it.

Louisiana rapper Lil Boosie was sentenced to eight years in prison in 2011 after pleading guilty to drug charges, but Rolling Stone contributor Jeff Weiss is reporting that Boosie’s stay in the pen may be coming to an end in the near future. Weiss, who has covered Boosie extensively for Rolling Stone, revealed the news on Twitter.
During a recent interview with Power 105′s The Breakfast Club, Rick Ross mentions that Boosie may be coming home in November and suggested that he may be teaming with a newly freed Lil Boosie. When asked if he has plans to sign Boosie to his Maybach Music Group label Ross replied, “I’m a put a bag on the table for that boy… and we do what it do. You never know.”
Boosie will also appear on the track “Lay It Down” off MMG’s Self Made 3 due out tomorrow.
Diddy finds himself at the losing end of a $1 million bet during a dice game with Rick Ross.
Hip Hop impresario Diddy will soon be out of $1 million if a bet made during a dice game with Rick Ross over the weekend was in fact real. In a newly-released video, which can be seen on the Bad Boy Records founder’s Instagram page, Diddy can be seen playing a game of dice with the Maybach Music Group helmsman for the sum of $1 million.
Diddy ultimately lost the bet and penned a written contract for Ross declaring that he owes the God Forgives, I Don’t rapper $1 million.
Both artists also shared the news of their win/defeat on Twitter, with Rick Ross stating he “just won a Milli” from Diddy.
Although a hefty amount, Diddy and Ross’ $1 million bet doesn’t serve as the first time a Hip Hop artist has placed millions on a bet.
Maine will be accused of inviting the alleged victims onto Lil Wayne’s tour bus after the August 21 stop of his “America’s Most Wanted” tour at the Chesapeake Energy Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
While Maine was on Lil Wayne’s tour bus with the female fans, Maine allegedly put one of his hands down the shirt of one of the girls and then squeezed her breast without her permission, TMZ’s article says. The woman says she slapped Maine and attempted to get off of the bus with her friend, according to TMZ. But, the woman says that Maine blocked the exit door and then punched her friend in the face, the site says. Maine’s punch broke her friend’s jaw, TMZ.com says.
The District Attorney handling the case said it was not known when the charges against Maine would be filed, but that they would be filed, according to TMZ.com.
Maine has yet to comment publicly on the incident.
According to TMZ’s report last week, the fan “showed up with her girlfriend” and the entourage member “stuck his hand down her shirt and grabbed her breast.” After rejecting the physical advance, the man apparently “turned around and punched her in the jaw, sending her flying out of the bus.” The victim claims that the blow resulted with a broken jaw that has required surgery and “her back on the pavement [and] blood pouring out of her mouth.”
According to TMZ’s reporting of the police report, the man responsible for the attack “ran off” while the injured woman “was taken to the hospital.”
UPDATE: Mack Maine has been charged with sexual battery, according to TMZ.com. The YMCMB President is facing two criminal charges after he allegedly groped a female fan while on Lil Wayne’s tour bus last month before punching her friend, the site says.
According to court documents, officials say Mack Maine invited Rachel Reed and Cailey Maddox onto a tour bus on August 22, 2013 and, while on the vehicle, "put his hand down Rachel's dress and grabbed her right breast" without her consent, as per TMZ.com.
"Rachel got upset and when she and Cailey tried to leave the bus, [Mack Maine] held the door shut," TMZ says the court documents it obtained said. "Once the door was opened, Cailey was walking down the steps but turned and looked back to call for Rachel and [Mack] punched her in the face, breaking her jaw and knocking her down."

Pusha T dubs "My Name Is My Name" the "album of the year," says Lil Wayne "rapping bad" doesn't help when it concerns his Twitter commentary on the rapper.
Days after throwing what appeared to be a subliminal shot at Lil Wayne via Twitter following the release of Dedication 5, Virginia lyricist Pusha T has finally given his two cents on the Young Money leader and his most recent project.
During an appearance on Thursday Night Live With DJ Envy, Pusha T was asked if he had the opportunity to listen to Dedication 5. He confirmed that he did give the mixtape a listen and went on to refer to the project as “trash.” The My Name Is My Name rapper also expressed his belief that Lil Wayne has lost it as an emcee.
Both Pusha T and Lil Wayne have feuded on and off in the past with Weezy proclaiming “Fuk Pusha T and anybody that love em” last year following the release of Pusha T’s “Exodus 23:1,” a record that took aim at Young Money artist Drake.
Pusha T addressed Lil Wayne’s Tweet and revealed that he’s merely “having fun” when it concerns comments he’s made on the popular social networking site.
“This how it is for real with me. I’m just having fun. I’m really just having fun with it,” Pusha T explained. “The thing is though, these guys got so many fans that when you make blanket statements like ‘F Pusha T’ on Twitter and all that type of stuff, you can’t just let things like that go. Because they got so many fans that by the time it gets quiet everybody gon’ start looking at you like ‘Man, he just gets over on you’ and so on and so on. So, it's like I just play with it. I just toy with it. Totally just toy with it and have my fun with it. And then he’s sort of rapping bad so that doesn’t help. I’m good, he’s bad.”
The Clipse emcee also took some time to speak on his solo LP, My Name Is My Name, and the struggle he’s endured while breaking out as a solo artist.
“I feel like it’s taken this long for people to accept me as a solo artist,” said the rapper. “Everybody saying like ‘Yo, we been waiting. We been waiting. We been waiting.’ I feel like, man, I been convincing, convincing, convincing folks to get out of Clipse mode for a minute. Just to look at me in a specific way just as a solo [act]. I think I been proving myself man. I think I’ve been proving myself and now the day has come man, October 8. I told everybody man I got album of the year. I said it a long time ago.”
Pusha T’s My Name Is My Name is currently set for release on October 8. The album will serve as the G.O.O.D. Music emcee’s first solo LP.

Kendrick Lamar says rappers "gotta try harder" when responding to his "Control" verse. He also comments on Diddy's Instagram response to "Control."
Kendrick Lamar recently spoke about the various responses to his oft-discussed verse on Big Sean's "Control."
"They gotta try harder," Lamar said to TMZ when asked about the responses to "Control."
Several rappers have made responses to Lamar's verse on "Control." Cassidy, Papoose and Meek Mill have been among those who have responded to Lamar's verse on the song, which featured Kendrick mentioning the names of several rappers in his verse.
"I'm usually homeboys with the same niggas I'm rhymin' with," Kendrick Lamar says on the song. "But this is Hip Hop and them niggas should know what time it is. That goes for Jermaine Cole, Big K.R.I.T., Wale, Pusha T, Meek Mill, A$AP Rocky, Drake, Big Sean, Jay Electron[ica], Tyler[, the Creator], Mac Miller. I got love for you all but I'm tryin' to murder you niggas. Trying to make sure your core fans never heard of you niggas [and that] they don't want to hear not one more noun or verb from you niggas. What is competition? I'm trying to raise the bar high."
“I liked the [King] Los verse,” Kendrick Lamar said. “Joe Budden did this thing, Joell [Ortiz], a lot of people with different approaches…Joey had the facts in his verse, a few things that he felt. Papoose had the comical joint. Los was flipping his words and putting that spunk on it. I think he had the killer thing though. Yeah, Los killed it out of everybody.”
Diddy made a post on Instagram regarding the statement about King Los, who is a member of his Bad Boy imprint.
Kendrick Lamar Addresses Diddy's Image About "Control"
Lamar was also asked about Diddy, who posted a response in a picture following Kendrick Lamar's "Control" verse being leaked. In his image, Diddy appears to make a comical jab about Lamar's "King of New York" claims.
Diddy's caption to the image was as follows:
Kendrick got y'all niggas takin y'all time now! This is good ! What y'all gonna do now? Haaaaa lol lets go!
When asked about this image, Lamar addressed Diddy.
"He's the big homie," Lamar said. "Everybody else gotta try harder, though."

A jeweler files a lawsuit against Drake, claiming the rapper made knockoffs of its owl pendant.
Drake is being sued for allegedly creating imitation versions of an owl pendant, according to TMZ. The company suing Drake, Michael Raphael's Baden Baden Inc., claims Drake hired it to create a custom owl pendant in January and that the rapper allegedly paid close to $50,000 for the item, as per TMZ.
In June, gold duplicates of the owl piece began appearing on Drake's Instagram account, according to Baden Baden Inc.'s claims, which also say that Drake took the original design and created imitation versions of the pendant for his friends.
Drake is being sued for copyright infringement. Baden Baden Inc. is also demanding unspecified damages, as per TMZ. Drake is also being asked to turn in all duplicate copies of the piece.

A new lawsuit claims Nicki Minaj used components of an underground record titled "Neu Chicago" on "Starships."
A song released well over three years ago by Chicago artist Clive Tanaka is now the center of a copyright infringement lawsuit aimed at Young Money rapstress Nicki Minaj. According to the Chicago Tribune, Tanaka believes Nicki Minaj borrowed components of his record “Neu Chicago” on her 2012 chart-topper, “Starships.”
In his lawsuit, which was filed earlier this week in a U.S. District Court in Chicago, the “Neu Chicago” creator also named various “Starships” collaborators including producer/songwriter Nadir “RedOne” Khayat, Carl Falk, Wayne Hector, and Rami Yacoub.
The similarity between both songs is arguable, but according to Tanaka’s lawyer, Christopher Niro, there’s one piece of information that could be vital in the Windy City artist’s lawsuit. Tanaka believes RedOne and other “Starships” writers could have been living in Sweden when his record, “Neu Chicago,” was featured in several advertising campaigns in the country.
"They had a very good opportunity to hear it…We believe they are similar to the point that it is nearly impossible for it to be a coincidence,” Niro revealed to the Chicago Tribune.
Neither Nicki Minaj nor a rep for the rapper has responded publicly to Tanaka’s lawsuit.
Most notoriously, Lil Wayne settled a $20 million lawsuit with “Lollipop” producer Deezle last year over unpaid work for Tha Carter III. Additionally, Drake also found himself at the center of a costly lawsuit when a woman claiming to be the singer/rapper’s girlfriend sued over the use of her vocal’s on “Marvin’s Room.”
Mister Cee says his goodbyes to fans and Hot 97 on-air.
Earlier today, it was revealed that Mister Cee, a/k/a Mr Cee, had resigned from his post at New York radio station Hot 97 after 20 years with the station.
The announcement came amidst new allegations that the legendary deejay and producer solicited a prostitute. In May, Cee had been arrested in New York City for allegedly soliciting sex from an undercover male police officer posing as a prostitute.
Cee addressed the resignation on air during what would appear to be his final show:
"Today is] my last time being on the air on Hot 97, yours truly Mister Cee," explained an emotional Cee. "I am officially resigning from Hot 97 today. I went through a lot in the past two years and I've tried to rise above those situations, I have tried to move forward from these situations and unfortunately every time I try to move forward, it's like I take one step forward and then two steps back, and I'm hurting the people who are closest to me, which is my Hot 97 fam."
Cee stressed that the decision to leave was his alone."Everybody knows I love doing this radio thing. I've been at Hot 97 since 1993 and I live, breathe, sleep radio. The last thing that I wanna do is hurt the Hot 97 family, so I have decided — not Ebro, not management, nobody, but me Mister Cee — I have decided that it's time for me to move on and it's time for me to take time out to take care of myself."
Ultimately, Mister Cee decided that his actions could harm Hot 97, so he decided it was time to leave. "There are a lot of situations where when I try to do what I think is the right thing, a setback happens, and the last thing I wanna do is hurt this station, so today is my last day on Hot 97."
The announcement ended on a positive note. "I am good, I am safe, I am happy, I am blessed, but in reality I knew that this day would come. Whether it was because of the mistakes I've made in the past or whether it was just time for me to move on, I knew that at some point, this day was going to come, and so the day has finally come where Mister Cee has to move on. It comes a time when you have to be a realist and understand that what do you affects others, and you don't wanna hurt the people that you love and I love this station. I love Hot 97."
Cee also addressed the resignation and the allegations surrounding it on Twitter, opining that he might be "better off dead."
Mister Cee built his legacy in the 1980s as Big Daddy Kane's deejay. In the 1990s, he was one of several people credited with discovering The Notorious B.I.G., and was an executive producer on Biggie's debut album, 1994's Ready to Die.
So Mike Krzyzewski was addressing Duke graduate students tenting out for this season’s basketball tickets — yes, in early September. After explaining his reasoning for extending his tenure with USA Basketball, introducing some of the team, etc., Krzyzewski eventually got around to a story about the Sports Illustrated Sportsman of the Year dinner from last November, where he had the opportunity to meet music power couple Jay Z and Beyonce.
In the course of that story, K explained in detail why he looked like a nervous teenager in this photo from the event (upper left picture):
Meek Mill has already responded to Kendrick’s claims of being the “KING.” Well what do we have here? This is shaping up to be a very interesting beef indeed. I mean these guys seem to be really ready to go toe to toe. The only thing Is, I’m not sure how it pans out.
But, Meek said more in a deleted tweet to plead his case. He said:
“I’m the only ni**a coming thru the streets w/ the baddest bitch in the game on my bike w/ a 100 hittaz & army tanks behind me!”
“That’s a king….. It’s really levels!”
Hmmm…who is his chick? I’m thinking he and Kendrick are on two different pages. I think Kendrick is talking songs, raps and albums. And Meek seems to be talking about the streets. Correct me if I’m wrong.
Kendrick Lamar is in NYC right now – DISSING MEEK MILL. HA! Well, check it. If all the people that he actually named, Meek is the only one that responded in any lyrical fashion. And, when he did reply, Meek wasn’t issuing a death blow. It was just OK. When he said “Kendrick you next” I was expecting fire and fury. ANYWAY.
Kendrick must be like:
This is not to take sides, but to analyze the actions.
Check out what Kendrick said just a few moments ago:
Thoughts? Is Kendrick feeling himself too much or is operation world domination in full effect? Take the poll!
Gucci Mane reportedly dropped from Atlantic Records, no longer with longtime manager, Kevin "Coach K" Lee.
Atlanta rapper Gucci Mane left the social media world in a frenzy yesterday (September 9) and over the weekend, after letting loose a series of malicious Tweets aimed at Nicki Minaj, Waka Flocka Flame, Iggy Azalea, T.I., and a number of other artists.
It now appears that the person behind the slew of Tweets may not have been Gucci Mane after all. Yesterday, a man claiming to be Gucci’s brother announced that the rapper had been hacked and suggested that he was sabotaged.
The Tweet sent from Gucci’s alleged brother was also ReTweeted from the official Twitter account of the Trap House III creator.
Additionally, TheFader.com reports that Gucci’s Twitter rant follows news that the rapper may have been dropped from Atlantic Records and is no longer with his manager, Kevin “Coach K” Lee.
“He’s not with Atlantic anymore,” said a rep for Atlantic Records, according to HotNewHipHop.com. “Not sure how the deal ended, it may have been a time thing…It looks like it just wasn’t working out with Coach—which based on the tweets and his behavior, one could see why.”
Following Gucci Mane’s social media diatribe, a number of artists including Nicki Minaj and Tyga fired back with comments of their own. Both artists have since deleted all Tweets made about the rapper.
Since the release of Trap House in 2005, Gucci Mane has gone on to release a number of studio albums including Hard To Kill, The State vs. Radric Davis, and his most recent LP, Trap House III. Released on May 13 of this year via 1017 Brick Squad, Trap House III included guest features from 2 Chainz, Rick Ross, Chief Keef, and more.
Queen Latifah says Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith's involvement helped her in deciding to pursue "The Queen Latifah Show."
While promoting her new daytime talk show, “The Queen Latifah Show,” noted lyricist Queen Latifah took some time to speak on women in Hip Hop during an appearance on the Rickey Smiley Morning Show.
Queen Latifah, who last released a studio album in 2009, was asked to share the names of the female emcees she’s been most impressed by over the past 15 years. In response, the rapper/actress expressed her belief that artists like Lil Kim, Missy Elliott, and Foxy Brown have yet to be topped.
Additionally, Queen Latifah spoke on the need for there to be room for numerous female lyricists as opposed to there being only one rapper or a handful of rappers who remain the focus of each era.
“I still think some of the best ones that have done it have yet to be topped. I still don’t think anybody has topped the whole era of Foxy, Kim, Missy, Eve, me on the tail end kinda things,” the soon-to-be television host explained. “I’m still looking forward to it not just being a one-at-a-time female rapper thing. I mean, I think Nicki Minaj is great, but I think we definitely need to blow up some of the other females that are out there.”
Set to air on September 16, “The Queen Latifah Show” is executive produced by Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith, two people Queen Latifah says the show wouldn’t have been possible without.
“It took Will and Jada to be involved in this for me to really do it, to be honest with you,” said Queen Latifah. “Because I have done a talk show before and I learned a lot doing that show, but I knew then—what I learned then was that I really had to make it me. It had to be something that was really, really me in order for me to love going in there and working that hard and making it happen. And doing it every day. But I’ve known Will and Jada since I was a teenager. We’ve grown up together…Will has helped me out with various things throughout the years.”
Described by Queen Latifah as a talk show with “real conversations” focused “on real people every day, doing amazing things,” “The Queen Latifah Show” will air next week on CBS.
Game pledges $10,000 to help cover funeral costs for a tragedy-stricken family.
Game may be one of the most tough-talking emcees in Hip Hop, but the Compton native may just have a heart of gold.
TMZ reports that Game is donating $10,000 to the family of a 6-year-old Los Angeles girl who was fatally shot outside her home this weekend.
The funds will go to cover the funeral costs for Tiana RIcks, who was shot when two men approached her family's Moreno Valley home and opened fire.
Tiana and her father were struck, with the young girl reportedly asking her father, "Are you okay, Daddy?" as she lay dying.
Upon hearing the story, Game took to Instagram and posted his thoughts on the tragedy:
"This very sad story hit me in a place nothing ever has," wrote Game on his Instagram page. "The picture above is of 6 year old 'Tiana Ricks' who was gunned down in Moreno Valley this past weekend holding onto her fathers leg as men approached & opened fire wounding both Tiana & her father.... Tiana did not know she was shot & kept asking was her father okay until 2 1/2 hours later when lil Tiana was passed away just after midnite on Sunday... I read about this story here in Australia & immediately tracked down her mother @lost_the_love_of_my_life & noticed her & the family trying to raise $10,000 for funeral costs.... So I got her on a 3 way with my accountant & now I'm in the process of transferring $10,000 from my account to hers !!!!! Follow her now @lost_the_love_of_my_life & show her support thru this tough time...... Prayers are definitely needed. My sincerest condolences to you & your family Marquia. Glad that I could be of some help..... I don't know what else to say, but @therobinhoodproject got you !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! #TheRobinHoodProject"
TMZ spoke with the young girl's mother, Marquia Macklin.
"Game told me that he heard about my story and was really sorry," said Macklin. "He said that he wanted to help out and put me in touch with his financial team."
Macklin was grateful for Game's generosity, but admitted that the donation "only covers half of the casket and the plot."
They have first world problems and then there is what I like to call !% Problems. Drake has the latter. Seems like Drake is so rich that he had the money to cop a brand new Bugatti Veyron. But, he also had enough money to NOT know how to use it. That’s right. Drake was out with a female the web is saying is Nicki Minaj (which I don’t think it is). So, Drizzy gets into this supremely pricy car are but cannot get it to move. Not only that, the papz were all over the place and they captured the whole ordeal on tape. I’m sure he’s learned how to do this as this happened a few weeks ago, from what I heard.
I mean, seriously – who has time for this? I sure don’t! Gucci loses it on Twitter and simply disses everybody you can think of. Everybody from specific names at Atlantic Records to Nicki Minaj to Ciara to Waka to Jeezy to Rick Ross to Vanessa, the editor-in-chief at XXL mag to….his own girl, Keyshia D’oir! Wow! I can’t put all this into a write up or I’d be writing up something all day. So, look below!
He took the bridge, burned it, then took the ashes, burned them, then took what’s left and smoked it!
Perception is reality and the perception of troubled legendary MC DMX is that of a dysfunctional man due to his recent negative press. Earlier today (September 9th), TMZ released footage of X running through a Detroit hotel.
According to DMX’s official statement, the entire incident stemmed from a dare between him and DJ NonStop. The rapper claims to have been unaware of the hotel lobby having security cameras:
DMX was a Detroit hotel with his DJ (DJ NonStop) and his road manager (Montana) before his performance with Eve and Lil Kim on August 31st. X and the team were killing time at the hotel before the concert and dared each other to streak in the hallway. No one was aware that security cameras were rolling and it was just a playful dare between friends.
DMX’s house arrest has also been lifted and he is cleared to work.
The Associated Press now reports that Zimmerman was not formally arrested, but police are at the house seeking to understand what has happened.
(AllHipHop News) George Zimmerman is back in trouble for his gun usage. The Associated Press reports that George Zimmerman’s estranged wife Shellie Zimmerman called the police on him over alleged gun threats.
BREAKING: George Zimmerman’s wife calls police, saying he threatened her and her dad with a gun, police say
Zimmerman was placed in police custody this afternoon after Lake Mary police were called.
This arrest comes days after Shellie filed for divorce and provided a expository interview with ABC where she revealed Zimmerman’s volatile temper and feelings of invicibility, post-acquittal in the Trayvon Martin murder case.
Meek Mill talks about his relationship with Kendrick Lamar and explains why he "ain't no battle rapper."
Meek Mill, who recently released his Kendrick Lamar diss track, "Ooh Kill Em," says he doesn't have a personal beef with Kendrick Lamar. The rapper also says that he told Kendrick Lamar that he had a response to his verse on "Control" that was going to be released.
"Yeah, I know Kendrick," Meek Mill said in an interview with DJ Whookid. "He's a cool guy. I seen him the other day. I seen him at Hov's party. I said, 'You know I'm loading up to fire back.' He's a cool guy, man."
When asked if there was any beef between the two because of "Control," Meek clarified his position.
"Nah, hell nah," Meek said. "I like that shit. I ain't mad at it. If you mad at it, then you must just be a soft dude."
And while he also recently released another track, "Kendrick You Next," a song dissing Cassidy, Meek Mill explained how he feels about being called a battle rapper.
"I ain't no battle rapper," Mill said. "I just battled [in the past] because that's what they was on at the time. But that's what we do. That's fun to us. When I come at people, I come at them, so it just be like crazy."
Lamar first mentioned Meek Mill on his verse from Big Sean's "Control."
"I'm in a lane by myself," Mill said at the time. "I'm the only [one] that's lyrically spittin' some street music and gettin' money. Kendrick [Lamar and Black Hippy], I'ma tell 'em in a rap: y'all can run that backpack, I'ma run these streets...We gonna have fun with it; get money. Hip Hop needed that."
Nicki Minaj and Tyga respond to a series of tweets sent from the Twitter account of Gucci Mane that blast Nicki Minaj, Tyga, 2 Chainz and others.
Nicki Minaj and Tyga are among the artists who have responded to tweets sent from Gucci Mane's Twitter account today (September 9).
Today, a series of tweets sent from Gucci Mane's account blasted Jeezy, Waka Flocka Flame, Drake, 2 Chainz and others. In April, Nicki Minaj said that Gucci Mane, who Nicki Minaj collaborated with early in her career, needed an intervention. The tweets sent from Gucci Mane's twitter account that focus on Nick Minaj and appear to be in reference to the intervention Nicki Minaj mentioned in April are below.
Nicki Minaj responded to the tweets from Gucci Mane's account. Nicki Minaj's tweets are included below.
May God strike me dead if I ever had sex wit that man. Lmfaoooooooooo. Nigga da way ya #ugliness is set up Y~(C)Y~(C)Y~(C)Y~(C)Y~,Y~,Y~, #BubbaGump#crackhead
Nicki Minaj Explains Gucci Mane The Artist, Gucci Mane The Person
While speaking in April with Atlanta’s Hot 107.9, Nicki said that she hadn’t spoken to Gucci Mane, who was incarcerated at the time, in quite some time. She explained what she saw as the difference between Gucci Mane the artist and Gucci Mane the person before speaking on the possibility of an intervention to help the rapper, who was also involved in a beef with former affiliate Waka Flocka Flame.
“So, it’s like I separate Gucci the artist from Gucci the person," Nicki Minaj said in April. "Gucci the person is a sweet, loving, carefree, funny, hardworking dude. And so I never really paid attention to anything he said. In terms of intervention, I think about how talented he is and I kind of wish there was somebody that could step in and say, ‘Gucci, if you only knew how special you were. You would take a moment to really just get centered.’ I just think he really needs to center himself and not to point fingers because I’ve had moments when I needed to center myself. Sometimes you just need to be alone in a meditating type of place and to just kinda block out all the other noise.”
Nicki also said that Gucci Mane revolutionized the underground mixtape world and said that he’s an artist she’ll always have respect for.
“Nobody can ever deny the fact that he kind of revolutionized a lot of things in the underground mixtape world,” Nicki Minaj said in April. “He also spawned a lot of careers…He motivated me a lot. I loved being around him, he’s a hustler. And so, no matter what I will always respect Gucci.”
Tyga Responds To Gucci Mane's Tweets
The other targets of the tweets sent from Gucci Mane's twitter account today also include Tyga. One of the tweets targeting Tyga says that Gucci Mane and others had sex with Tyga's girlfriend. The tweet is below.
Tyga posted the following responses to the tweets sent from Gucci Mane's account today. Tyga refers to Gucci Mane as "Burberry" in his tweets.
The tweets sent from Gucci Mane's account also attacked 2 Chainz and a host of others. Most of the other artists mentioned either did not to respond or issued what appear to be vague responses to the tweets.
The series of tweets from Gucci Mane's twitter account today follow a series of twitter exchanges Saturday (August 7) within the Brick Squad camp boiled over as Gucci Mane, Waka Flocka Flame and others hinted at numerous group problems.
Gucci tweeted Saturday "Fuck bricksquad im. Sucka free. 1017," an apparent reaction to accusations that Gucci Mane paid the lawyer fees for Young Vito's trial. Vito was eventually acquitted for the murder of Brick Squad artist Slim Dunkin.
Waka and Gucci would exchange fire through out the day on the social media site and were eventually joined by Waka's cousin Frenchie (who decided to side with him) and Wooh Da Kid, who would fire off at both Gucci and OJ Da Juiceman.
In January 2011, Gucci Mane was committed to a mental health treatment facility after he said he was in no state to "intelligently participate in the probation revocation hearing," according to TMZ.com.
Another subject the pair broached was Wayne's oft-dicussed retirement plans.
During the interview, Wayne confirmed that he plans to retire from music by the age of 35, and that his motivation to do so would be to spend more time with his children.
"Whatever they want to do. I don't want to have no influence ... 'Hey you must do this, you must do that,'" he explained. "Because I didn't have that and because I didn't have that I grew up to be exactly what I wanted to be and how I wanted to be. I want that for all of my kids."
"I know I'll be ready to retire at thirty-five because I am so ready to retire now!" said Wayne, who has one daughter and three sons.
New York City marshals have seized a "fully loaded" mint-condition Cadillac Escalade from Ryand Leslie.
Nearly a year ago, a judge ordered Ryan Leslie to pay the $1 million reward for the recovery of his stolen laptop.
Leslie reneged on the promise after Armin Augustein, a German man, found the laptop. Leslie would go on to explain that the reason he didn't pay the money was because the music on his machine wasn't there. Augustein later filed a federal lawsuit in New York City, which he won. However, Leslie apparently hasn't paid up.
That's why New York City marshals have seized the singer-songwriter's 2010 Cadillac Escalade, which will go for auction on Monday (September 9), reports NYPost.com.
Though the jury in last year's case ordered Leslie to pay the finder's fee, Leslie has apparently paid only $5,000 thus far.
Court documents claim that Leslie's performances make hundreds of thousands of dollars.
The marshals seized Leslie's SUV on August 8, and thus far no other property has been taken.
An ad for the auction says that the vehicle features power steering, power windows, DVD players, and third-row seating.
Frank Ocean has decided to wear and promote a t-shirt that is going to offend many Chris Brown fans and Breezy too. The shirt simply says: “Wanted (Insert Chris Brown’s Face) For Domestic Violence.” This clearly states that ish ain’t sweet between these dudes. But, why do it like this? Some have accused Frankie of doing this for pure attention. Others have said that it was done has an effort to drive Chris into a rage again and help him further meltdown for the public to see.
One of George Zimmerman’s closest supporters is doing more than simply revoke her support. George Zimmerman’s wife, Shellie Zimmerman is filing from her husband claiming began making “reckless decisions” after his acquittal in the Trayvon Martin murder case.
In an interview with ABC News, Shellie says she began realizing she never really knew her husband, claiming he began feeling “invincible”:
I have a selfish husband. And I thinkr
George is all about George. I think I’m realizing that I have been married to a person for almost seven years, and I don’t think that I ever really knew him at all.
The distraught wife says the couple unsuccessfully attempted marriage counseling after George’s temper led to verbal abuse.
Shellie pled guilty to perjury under oath for lying during the Bond hearing in George Zimmerman’s case, informing the court that they had limited funds. Records later revealed George Zimmerman amassed thousands of dollars in donations at the time of the hearing that the married couple conspired together to disperse to multiple accounts.
George Zimmerman was not at the court when she was sentenced to a year’s probation and 100 hours of community service.
The married couple of 6 years separated on August 13th. Shellie informed ABC News that even when they were together it was in horror for the past 18 months:
We have pretty much lived like gypsies for the past year and a half. We’ve lived in a 20-foot trailer in the woods, scared every night that someone would go and find us and that it would be horrific.
Shellie, 26 currently has $12,729 to her name and has amassed a debt of $103,756, according to copy of her court filings which was posted online by ABC News.
She is asking for equitable distribution of the couple’s assets and debts.

Lil Wayne gets personal on Katie Couric's eponymous talk show.
Lil Wayne has never been reserved about revealing aspects of his personal live, whether through music of in interviews.
On the Season 2 Premier of Katie Couric's "Katie" talk show, which airs Monday (September 9), Weezy joins Katie to discuss several topics, including whether he regrets dropping out of high school.
"Not at all. I mean, kids, finish high school...And all my kids, you are finishing high school," explained a serious Wayne.
Lil Wayne revealed that it was actually his mother who told him to drop out, out of concern for the then-budding star's safety. "But my mom. It was my mom's idea. I had an album out. I was platinum already, thank God. I was still trying to go to regular public school, and she saw me getting ready for school one day, and she was walking past the room, and...she was talking on the phone with someone, just talkin' loud, and she saw me putting my gun in my backpack. And she said, 'You gotta bring that to school with you?' And I remember asking, 'You don't want me to bring it?' And she thought about it, she said, 'I do.' So I put it back in my bag, and she said, 'You're right. Bring it.' Because she bought it for me for protection. She was like, 'You do need it.' She was still on the phone, it wasn't two minutes later, she walked back to my room, she said, 'You don't go to school no more. You gettin' a GED,' and I was like, 'Okay.'"
"She was like, 'If that's the way you gotta go to school, you on TV right now, tell Baby and them, get you your GED.' So I went and got a GED, and I went to college," he added.
Given that the main theme of the Super Bowl this season will be its New York/New Jersey location, it seemed the NFL would stick with the theme and pick a halftime act from the area (Jay Z? Bon Jovi? Bruce Springsteen again?).
That's what makes the pick of Bruno Mars a bit random.
Mars will be the halftime act of this season's Super Bowl, the Associated Press reported, citing anonymous sources. An official announcement is supposed to happen in Times Square on Sunday. Mars is a fine choice, as a Grammy winner and one of the best-selling artists of the last few years. Just a little out of the blue for the NFL, which isn't bad either.
After the Janet Jackson "wardrobe malfunction" the NFL went through a phase of booking very established and mostly safe acts. Mars is young, at 27, and his debut album was just 2010. He isn't quite at the level of fame as Madonna or Beyonce, the Super Bowl's last two halftime acts, but he has plenty of hits – "Grenade," "Just the Way You Are," "Locked Out of Heaven," to name a few.
He also has no direct and obvious New York ties (he's from Hawaii), but the NFL deserves some credit for being a bit unpredictable with its pick.
Damn it man. This is happening right now. Apparently, Jay Z was having a leisurely day with his lovely wife…when he decided to take a dip in the pool. And now, as news of his bodyguard dying comes down, the internet has jokes. SMH!
(AllHipHop News)Jay Z’s personal bodyguard has died suddenly after a fracas with police.
Norman Oosterbroek, 43, has an extensive tenure as a personal bodyguard for the likes of Jay Z, Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Kanye West, Drake and even Nelson Mandela. He died Monday night.
Oosterbroek was a 6 foot, 10-inch tall behemoth that weighed about 300 pounds and was very well-known in entertainment.
Published reports say that Oosterbroek was running around naked around 11 p.m. scaring other homeowners in Miami, Florida.
When police arrived, Oosterbroek was apparently fighting another homeowner, but in the midst of the fight, he ingested an unknown substance.
In an effort of subdue him, police tazed Oosterbroek and he died.
“It’s possible that he may have been under some type of a narcotics. Again, he was observed swallowing, ingesting some kind of substance, unknown substance that is,” Miami-Dade Police spokesman Det. Javier Baez said of Oosterbroek.
An autopsy is expected to offer some reasons as to how such a popular celebrity fixture died in such way.
“Its (Oosterbroek’s death) not as clean cut as everybody is reporting on,” a source told AllHipHop.com. “There is much more that is going to come of this. Its very suspicious.”
The new album by Drake is on the horizon and the anticipation is killing soft fan boys all over! But, they may just have a treat indeed! Why? because there is a track listing in full rotation on the internet. One song appears twice so I’m not sure if this is official. Also, seeing a song called “Wu Tang Forever” is strange, yet oddly intriguing.
Big Sean and Juicy J hit the Top 10 with "Hall of Fame" and "Stay Trippy" respectively while Krizz Kaliko and Goodie Mob also hit the charts with "Son of Sam" and "Age Against the Machine." Justin Timberlake makes a jump back into the Top 6 with "20/20 Experience."
This week featured several new Hip Hop releases debuting in Billboard's Top 200 Albums charts. Big Sean had the highest debut of all Hip Hop artists with Hall of Fame, earning a spot at #3 overall with Juicy J's Stay Trippy arriving right behind him at #4. Goodie Mob also premiered its latest album, Age Against the Machine, landing in the final slot of the Top 30.
Strange Music's Krizz Kaliko also had a debut this week with Son of Sam, a project that hit at #57 with just under 8,000 units sold. “I always keep titles for songs and albums kind of in the chamber,” Kaliko said during a recent interview with HipHopDX. “And I always wanted to do an album called Son Of Sam because Son Of Sam is just me. That’s what it means. My family name is Sam Watson, so that’s my legal name, my government [name]. To me, it meant more of me." Kaliko has also said that this album will allow him to shine as a solo artist in a different way than he has in the past. "A lot of people know me from Tech N9ne’s music from the last 13 years you know," Kaliko said. "So I’ve always been kind of his co-writer, his sidekick, his hypeman...So I always wanted to do an album called Son Of Sam because it felt like to me a little bit of a liberation, not that I needed to be freed from that because that’s been a system that groomed me into being Krizz Kaliko. I’m giving you more of me and that’s pretty much where the title came from.”
Outside of new releases on the Billboard Top 200, there was also a significant jump from an artist who has been on the charts for months. Justin Timberlake made that leap with 20/20 Experience, an album that currently sits in the #6 spot. This was a meaningful move after being in the #22 spot just a week ago. For JT, the new position in the Top 6 comes after one of the most acclaimed performances at this year's MTV Video Music Awards, where he was the recipient of the Video Vanguard Award. Timberlake followed that show by appearing on several radio stations promoting his next album, The 20/20 Experience 2 of 2, scheduled for a September 30 release. The album is set to feature Jay Z and Drake.
Big Sean Gets More Notoriety With Hall Of Fame
Big Sean's new album, Hall of Fame, landed the rapper in the #3 spot in its first week out with approximately 72,000 units sold. This is a drop from the first week sales of his last effort, 2011's Finally Famous, which sold 87,000 in its first week to land in the #3 slot as well. The Michigan rapper spoke about what Hall of Fame means to him during an exclusive interview with HipHopDX published August 29. "I really tried to step it up on this Hall Of Fame—from the “Beware” video, to “Fire” with Miley Cyrus and the album packaging," Sean said. "We tried to do everything on a higher level and still be ourselves…still be cool. So I’m just excited about this project, and I feel like the next one’s gonna be even better. I’m 25-years-old, and I’m livin’."
Juicy J Stays Strong With Stay Trippy
Juicy J's Stay Trippy placed at #4 this week selling 64,000 units in its first week. Juicy J spoke about the album in May, saying that he had many songs to pick from before finalizing the effort. "It wasn't like this person had to be on this one or that person had to be on that one," Juicy said. "I was just doing songs. I would go in the studio and say, 'Let's do a song.' Sometimes I release stuff on the Internet. Sometimes I may save it for an album. It was just done. [I'm at] 75 records right now." Whatever strategy Juicy went with in the end seems to have worked for his fans, helping J land in the Top 5 for the week with this Kemosabe Records/Columbia release. Stay Trippy features guest spots from Pimp C, Trey Songz, Wale, Wiz Khalifa, Yelawolf and Justin Timberlake, to name a few.
Goodie Mob Rages With Age Against The Machine
Goodie Mob's Age Against the Machine positioned the group in the #30 spot with approximately 13,000 units sold. The group released this critically acclaimed album with the assistance of guest features from T.I. and Janelle Monae, but the focal point of the album remains the group's chemistry after being separated for years. With Cee Lo, T-Mo, Khujo and Big Gipp, the album brings back some characteristics that are reminiscent of the group's early days while also developing new sounds in the process. Cee Lo spoke about this in June 2012, when he confirmed that the quartet was working together again. "The Goodie Mob, we definitely are reunited," Cee Lo said in an interview with MTV. "And we've been working on that album really vigorously and it's coming out very well...I think people are going to be very pleased. You know our core audience and also this new audience that we are aspiring to acquire."
TDE's ScHoolboy Q says his confidence is at an all-time high as the release of "Oxymoron" nears. He also discusses the pressure that comes with following the critically acclaimed, platinum-selling "good kid, m.A.A.d. city" from labelmate Kendrick Lamar.
As he prepares to release Oxymoron, ScHoolboy Q says he is the most self assured he's ever been.
"I never felt this confident in my music or this confident period," ScHoolboy Q said in an interview with AlLinstrom. "I just think I'm the best rapper right now."
ScHoolboy Q's fellow Black Hippy member, Kendrick Lamar, recently made similar statements on his much-discussed verse for "Control." Lamar's critically acclaimed platinum-sellinggood kid, m.A.A.d. city was the first album out of the Top Dawg Ent. camp following the label's Interscope connection. Q discussed the pressure that lies with following in Kendrick Lamar's footsteps.
"There's a little bit of pressure, but I'm not Kendrick and he's not me," Q said. "You can't expect my album to sound exactly like his, but it's gonna compete with his album...I know the album is good and I just want people to receive it in a good way. But the pressure, of course it's there, a little bit. That's fuckin' Kendrick Lamar. When you say his name now, it's a fuckin' big deal...He's up there with [Kanye West] and all that."
Aside from the pressure that Q's hoping to shake with the release of Oxymoron, the TDE rapper also said he hopes to quit using marijuana soon.
"I'm actually trying to quit smoking weed," Q said. "It's a little selfish in a sense because I got homies that's broke. I got my momma. As much money as I done spent [on marijuana], I could have bought my momma a new place, a new car. I spend like $6,000 a month on weed. It's like an ounce every other day. It's not even just me just smoking by myself, you gotta understand. I'm around a lot of people and I'm the type of person, I know how much people make. You don't have to spend your money when you're with me. It's not like that. I'm not selfish or nothin' like that. I'm always supplying all the weed all the time and drinks or I'll pay for the food. The thing is, I make a lot more money than them. One hundred dollars is a lot of money for some people."
While the rapper has not stopped smoking weed yet, he did acknowledge that it will alter his life if he does.
"I haven't tried not smoking weed and rapped yet," Q said. "I said I want to quit...[Weed] mellows you. Once you get used to being mellow and chill, once you don't smoke, you're a normal person so your senses is regular. You not the sluggish, chill person that's cool that's down for whatever. Regular, you're almost like a kid again, in that sense."
Jay Z is reportedly going to sell his stake in the Brooklyn Nets to Jason Kidd, the team(TM)s head coach and one of its former players.
Jay Z is set to sell his remaining ownership stake in the Brooklyn Nets to Jason Kidd, the team’s head coach and one of its former players, according to a cbssports.com story. The Brooklyn rapper’s total stake in the team was reportedly $500,000 and represented one-sixth of 1 percent ownership of the team, as per an espn.com story. The NBA must approve the proposed transaction between Jay Z and Kidd. Jay Z had already sold the other portion of his Nets ownership to an existing minority owner of the team, as per cbssports.com.
Jay Z also owns the Roc Nation Sports agency, which may be why he’s selling his stake in the Nets. NBA rules do not allow players and-or agents to own part of a team. There is no rule against coaches owning a portion of a team, according to the ESPN.com story.
In June, Roc Nation Sports signed Kevin Durant to its roster. Durant, a forward for the Oklahoma City Thunder, was the first NBA player to sign to Roc Nation Sports. “Grateful for this opportunity with Roc Nation Sports," Kevin Durant wrote on his Instagram account in June. "It’s go time.”
Kidd played for the then-New Jersey Nets from 2001-2008 and won an NBA championship as a member of the 2011 Dallas Mavericks. Kidd also reportedly suggested that Jay Z buy into the Nets 10 years ago, according to netsdaily.com.
Miguel has been charged with driving under the influence in Los Angeles, California.
Miguel was arrested for driving under the influence in Los Angeles, California today (August 15).
TMZ reports that California Highway Patrol (CHP) pulled Miguel over for speeding and because the singer's car's windows were tinted beyond the allowed opacity. After being stopped, police officers say that they smelled the scent of alcohol on Miguel.
Miguel failed "various" sobriety tests during the stop, according to TMZ. His breathalyzer results of .10 and .11 were higher than the California limit, which is .08. After failing the tests, Miguel was arrested and booked.
Miguel, who is scheduled to appear in court in September for this case, was released on $5,000 bail, according to the reports.
A$AP Rocky allegedly slapped a female fan in Philadelphia while performing at the Made In America festival this weekend.
A$AP Rocky has been charged with misdemeanor simple assault, according to TMZ.com. The charge stems from an alleged incident at the Made In America festival in Philadelphia Saturday (August 31), the site says.
The alleged victim filed a criminal complaint today (September 4) with the District Attorney's Office today claiming that A$AP Rocky was walking through a collection of dancing fans who were pulling on his shirt, as per TMZ. The rapper then turned around and landed an open-hand slap on the face of the alleged victim, who says she suffered whiplash from the alleged assault, according to TMZ.
A$AP Rocky has been charged assault before. In July 2012, A$AP Rocky was arrested and sued for assault after a fight between the rapper and two photographers who had been filming the rapper while he was involved in an altercation with another person. That person, TMZ reported, claims that he saw the Harlem emcee get high in the clothing store, and that Rocky began beating him, before turning his attention to the photographers.
A$AP Rocky struck a plea deal in the criminal case, pleading guilty to attempted grand larceny, with the assault and robbery charges being dropped.
In June 2013, A$AP Rocky appeared to slap a female fan in the face, as seen in a video from the rapper's performance at the Hordern Pavilion in Sydney, Australia, according to XXL. As A$AP Rocky walks through the crowd, fans are trying to get his attention by patting him on the head and reaching for his hands. When a female fan reaches down from her seat, taps A$AP Rocky on the head and blows him a kiss, the rapper appears to turn around the slap the woman in the face. He then appears to point at her as she reacts to being hit.
Remember when it seemed like Lil Kim was allegedly going to get down with Cash Money?
Those days are over. Kim popped off first a ways back, but I forgot about it. Anyway, on his new mix tape, Wayne disses Kim by saying, “changed the face of my Rolex, shout out to Lil’ Kim.” Basically. he’s alluding to her plastic surgery.
Kim ain’t about that life. She tweeted back at Wayne and alluded to questions about his sexuality.
Things just got realer for rapper 2Chainz, as police alleged that they found firearms and drugs on a tour bus that was impounded two weeks ago in Oklahoma City.
Official documents charge that the vehicle turned up two semi-automatic pistols, a 12-gauge pump shotgun, marijuana and prescription painkillers. A report fromTMZsaid that the rapper’s bus was pulled over because of a broken tail light but quickly authorities alleged they smelled marijuana.
As previously reported, 2Chainz refused to let the police on board and was subsequently arrested, along with others. The rapper tweeted about it as well, “This sh*t will make u go crazy, our bus gets pulled 1 a week and they always say I smell weed I need to search ur bus. Sh* gets tiring.”
Two weeks later, the police also say they found marijuana paraphernalia like grinders, pipes, rolling papers as well as Hydrocodone and Flexeril, a semi-auto Sig Sauer SP2340 pistol, a Mossberg model 500 12-gauge pump-action shotgun, and a semi-auto Glock pistol.
In an interview with Peter Bailey on NBC’s “NiteCap,” the rapper pleaded his case without incriminating himself.
“It takes up a lot of time and money from taxpayers who are the actually entertainers. At the end of the day we’re supposed to be kind of on the same team. I’m not a bad guy. I’m only in town to entertain people. Once they know I’m not trying to excite riots. I’m not trying to be disrespectful. I’m only trying to feed my family and entertain.”
2Chainz has not commented on the latest allegations.
Lupe Fiasco, who was named in a lawsuit filed by the spouse of Charles "Chilly" Patton after allegedly hiding $9 million from the drug kingpin's soon-to-be-ex-wife, responds to the reports.
Chicago lyricist Lupe Fiasco has found himself at the end of a possibly damning lawsuit this week thanks to a suit filed by Inita Patton, the soon-to-be-ex-wife of Charles "Chilly" Patton. According to TMZ, Inita is suing Lupe based on her belief that the rapper helped the currently incarcerated Patton hide $9 million dollars in various bank accounts in the hopes of keeping his wife away from those particular funds during their divorce.
Itis unclear how much Patton’s wife is seeking in her lawsuit, but she is hoping to reclaim the money she believes is rightfully hers.
A representative for Lupe did reach out to TMZ and had this to say in regards to the lawsuit, "There are no secret accounts and no illicit instructions."
Patton was sentenced to 44 years in prison in June 2007 after being caught with six kilos of heroin. The former drug kingpin, who is said to have been one of Lupe’s business partners, partnered with the rapper years ago to start their 1st and 15th record label.
Meek Mill says "Dreamchasers 3" will have something for everyone.
Recently, Meek Mill and the Cleveland Cavaliers' Dion Walters hosted the first ever Dreamchasers Sports & Entertainment Summit at Temple University in his hometown of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
During the event, Rise 24 Online caught up with Meek. "I'm feeling good... Been working hard, I'm here to inspire motivated people, so it feels great," he said.
Meek, whose third entry in the Dreamchasers mixtape series is due out soon, defined what a dreamchaser is to him. "I would define a dreamchaser as someone that's chasing they dreams and someone that's serious about chasing they dreams," he explained, thoughtfully.
The Maybach Music emcee also addressed the status of Dreamchasers 3, as well was MMG's next compilation project, Self-Made, Vol. 3. "DC3 comes out September 29. I got the new headphones over there, they listening to it right now. Self-Made 3 come out September 17, so real fast. About thirty days."
Meek was asked what fans could expect from him on the upcoming projects. "A lot of fire, you know what I'm sayin'? You see Kendrick and them poppin'...We gonna kill them clubs, we gonna kill that radio, we gonna touch them ladies, we gonna touch the streets."
Finally, Meek was asked what NBA player he would compare himself to. "I'm LeBron. Because LeBron is a young guy that came in this game like a monster, and I'm that young guy that came in this game like a monster. And a lot of people counted LeBron out, and a lot of people counted me out. That's who I compare myself to."
Dreamchasers 3 will feature Trina, Future, Jadakiss, Waka Flocka Flame, and more.
Ten years ago, Kevin Roberts suffered from an addiction that took over his life.
Roberts, now 44 years old, would sit eight to 12 hours a day in front of the pale blue glow of his computer, playing a videogame. During holidays, he "binged," spending nearly all his waking hours at his keyboard. Finally, a friend who had been through Alcoholics Anonymous told him he displayed all the same characteristics of an addict.
"Like most addicts, I went through a series of self-deception," said Roberts, who documented his struggle with addiction in his book, "Cyber Junkie: Escape the Gaming and Internet Trap."
The story of Roberts, who came to grips with his addiction through years of therapy and spiritual retreats, is not unique. Treatment facilities have sprung up in recent years, but a psychiatric hospital in central Pennsylvania is now set to become the country's first facility of its kind to offer an inpatient treatment program for people it diagnoses with severe Internet addiction.
The voluntary, 10-day program is set to open on Sept. 9 at the Behavioral Health Services at Bradford Regional Medical Center. The program was organized by experts in the field and cognitive specialists with backgrounds in treating more familiar addictions like drug and alcohol abuse.
"I feel like I deserve that," Big Sean said when asked about being a top rapper. "My album could have been way better and I was still finding myself as an artist. So what I'm saying is I don't know why people don't consider Big Sean as one of the best rappers when I'll hop on a song with anybody and I'll kill it and have a stand out verse."
The G.O.O.D. Music artist also compared himself to some of the biggest names in Hip Hop and says he can hold his own against any of them.
"I would consider Kanye and Jay Z the best, you consider Drake the best, you consider J. Cole the best when I can hop on a song with him and have a stand out verse and arguably a better verse than them," he said. "That's the point of Hall Of Fame, I wanted to make an album that gives me more leverage."
When asked about why his label boss Kanye West wasn't included as a guest on his second studio album, Sean replied that he shouldn't have to have 'Ye featured on his album for people to be a fan of his music.
"There was a song that me and Kanye had but it really just didn't fit the album necessarily," He said in describing their recent work. "I did five goddam five songs with Kanye man like ya'll want another? Niggas shouldn't fuck with me 'cause I got a song with Kanye... I want people to fuck with me for me man."
In the lawsuit, Hutson, the former lead singer of the R&B group The Impressions, alleges that Young Jeezy and Cannon sampled Hutson’s composition “Getting It On” for their song “Time,” a song included on Young Jeezy’s Trap or Die II mixtape that was produced by Cannon and released in 2010.
Hutson’s lawsuit claims that he did not grant Jeezy and Cannon permission or a license to sample “Getting It On” and that they did not provide credit or any financial compensation for using “Getting It On.”
Young Jeezy and Cannon are accused of copyright infringement and unjust enrichment in the suit, as per allhiphop.com. The site says that Hutson is seeking a trial by jury to determine the damages, a full accounting and attorney fees. Hutson also alleges that Young Jeezy also made a video for “Time,” also without his permission.
Hutson’s lawsuit says that Hutson’s daughter discovered that Young Jeezy and Cannon used “Getting It On” for “Time” while on the website WhoSampled.com.
According to the lawsuit, Hutson’s music has also been sampled by T.I., Paul Wall, Bone thugs-n-harmony, Erykah Badu and Snoop Dogg, among others. Earlier in his career, Hutson went by Leroy Hutson.
