Welcome to the blog of B Daht Obama! I've taken a new approach to MY blogs - I write letters to people. Hopefully one day some of the people can actually read the letters I write. If you have an idea of a letter you'd like me to write to someone (they don't HAVE to be in Sports) send it to theescore@yahoo. Hope you enjoy, and comments are STRONGLY encouraged!
Some players are traveling the country playing in All Star games like the recent stop the tour made to Winston Salem State University this weekend past. Stephen Jackson of the Milwaukee Bucks didn't make the trip; he chooses to spend his time off from basketball expressing himself like this:
Boise and Georgia unveiled their new uniforms for the season. I liked em a lot. Boise always stays at the forefront of Design and Distraction.; they were the first to implement BLUE TURF for God's sake. Sheesh.
The same couldn't be said about the new Maryland uniforms. They were designed by Under Armour, but they looked like they were designed in the Hellen Keller department.
What are your thoughts on the new uniforms in college?
Here is an email conversation between Shaq and Newsweek reporter Allison Samuels, and he let it be known that D. Wade was cheating on his girlfriend Gabrielle Union with another actress, Lauren London.
It appears that Samuels was trying to hook OâNeal up with some ladies all along. Check out the email exchange between the two, originally posted by Miami New Times, and let me knkow what YOU think, is Shaq DRY SNITCHING??
Samuels: Hi. Sesslielopez@gmail.com. [FYI, the email address bounces back]. Or I can give her your info? Sheâs not in the country until Wed so maybe then is better because she hasnât answered me about something else I asked her about. Also she asked about your personal life and I told her_whatever it is_-Iâm sure you had it under control. Still waiting on Robinneâs response.
Shaq: Sesslie aintdat fine whts robins last name
Samuels: You are so wrong! Robinne Lee_sheâs on Tyler Perryâs show sometimes. Do you know Lauren London_I donât_but I know James Lassiter knows how to reach her. You ever dealt with her_is she cool? Sharon Leal??
Shaq: Loren is d wadeâs girl im not wrong sesslie aint my type u r
Samuels: What about Gabrielle and Dwyane?
Shaq: He gottem all I want u or rihanna
Samuels: Rihanna is too young_19â she is just legal and you know Iâm very chatty and you said you didnât like that!!!!!
Shaq: Yeah but I told u had a crush on me and u wouldnt chat about us i kn o
Samuels: No_Iâm chatty in a relationship_not to others. You just decided I had a crush on you huh?? When did you decide that?
That's all we've got, but would you consider Shaq a snitch for his exchange?
Since taking his talents to South Beach, Lebron James has endured a LOT of negative comments and has gained a "LEGION of Non-supporters" known to some as HATERS.
I'm sure those individuals will get a hoot out of this as well as make it a LOT bigger thanit really is:
Sooooo, let's just all be glad the homie Chris Paul of the New Orleans Hornets can dribble, shoot, and pass MUCH better than his singing. This is bad, real bad Michael Jackson. Not only is his range ALL over the place, BUT as many times as i'm SURE he's watched "Lean on Me" To BRUTALLY Christina Aguillera these lyrics makes it THAT much more difficult to listen.
I'd rather hear Edward Scissorhands writing on a chalkboard
I'd rather hear 2 pigs oinking and boinking each other.
I'd rather hear Precious sleeping.
Let's not expect him to serenade his Bride To Be when they wed in the latter part of this year. Check the dreadful noise out here:
So, the television station in Raleigh, NC WRAL, was at the UNC vs. Florida State game in the Dean Dome on Sunday, February 5th, 2011 and caught 102Jamz' own B Daht dancing and having a grand ol time to conclude this video:
I was asked who I thought would play if Duke put together an All Time Team to play a game against an All Time UNC Team who do I think should participate; this is what I told em:
Duke: (PG) Jay Williams (SG) JJ Redick (SG) Grant Hill (PF) Elton Brand (C)Christian Laettner
UNC: (PG) Phil Ford (SG) Rashard McCants (SG) Michael Jordan (PF) James Worthy (C) Tyler Hansbrough
Wow. That would be one heck of a game.
This type of play in the NFL would definitely generate a ridiculous fine, but, this is the way the kids are being taught to make tackles. This is how it has always been. A defender is to dislodge the ball from the offensive player by any means necessary. The offenses goal is to get in the endzone, the defenses goal is to make sure that doesn't happen. Whoever wins that battle the most, usually wins the game. These types of tackles are ones that aid on the defensive side of things. What are your thoughts?
Apparently a video has leaked starring the wife of Head Coach of the NY Jets, Rex Ryan. Questions are:
Who's controlling the camera?
Why did I watch this entire 4 minutes?
Am I the only one who got semi turned on by these feet?
Is this some of the freakiest foolishness you've ever seen?
This weekend, Paul Williams got in the ring against Sergio Martinez. This was supposed to be a fairly easy when for the former Champion Paul Williams, but it only took a round and a half for Martinez to prove he was the better fighter that night.
Check out the video:
Kobe Bryant is in an ad for the Call of Duty: Black Ops game and is catching some pretty heavy flak for the appearance. If you haven't seen the commercial, take a look:
Now, the ME of 10 years ago would have LOVED this commercial! Some of my favorites persons make guest appearances in the :30 second spot. Kobe Bryant highlights because he's a superstar athlete, world renown, and noticeable by ages ranging from 4-100+. I know this to be fact because as I was initially watching said commercial, there was a 4 year old named Izayah standing right beside me who was the one who pointed Kobe out to me in the commercial. Initially, I missed Kobe, but with the power of DVR, i was able to rewind it and get a better look.
Yep, that was Kobe Bryant; holding an assault rifle, with a scope, shooting to kill. I just remember my 4 year old looking up at me and saying "Daddy, I wanna shoot like Kobe." He had said those words many times, but this was the first time his reference was away from a basketball court, and an orange ball and rim were the farthest from his mind.
10 years ago I would have thought it was cool that Kobe played the same shooting game as some of my closest friends, but when that face is noticeable to a four year old, who is at an extremely impressionable point in his life, I don't want him thinking there is ANYTHING cool with shooting semi automatic weapons. In my opinion, Kobe Bryant on a commercial of that magnitude is the equivalent to the irresponsibility of T.I.
Yeah, I've become THAT guy.
A Parent. One who is constantly trying to gauge the amount of ignorance and negativity that is seen by his son. One who is constantly thinking of his son in the years to come and knowing the things he experiences now will effect him for years to come.
Yeah, I've become that guy.
The guy who actually understands there are consequences for actions. The guy who gets called Mr. and Sir by high school and college kids alike. The guy who thinks that being of a superstar level and having millions of CHILDREN wearing your jersey, one should think about doing commercials shooting heavy artillery . Bad form Kobe, bad form.
Yeah. I've become THAT Guy.
The people of Cleveland got together and made a spoof of LeBron James' "Rise" commercial. What are your thoughts? Do you understand where the people of Cleveland are coming from OR do they need to just leave it alone??
I am a supporter of protecting the athlete. At the end of the day ALL athlete's want to make it home to their families. Regardless your profession, how dangerous, or lack thereof, the goal is to make it home to your family at the end of the shift. All persons responsible in setting the tone for the profession or making the rules to keep the "employees" safe should be commended, but sometimes the makers of these rules and laws don't take all aspects into account; this is an example of such a situation.
Due to the large amount of concussions this season, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell hath implemented new rules and fines in order to "protect the offensive players" (please see Dunta Robinson case: http://espn.go.com/blog/nfcsouth/post/_/id/14437/dunta-robinson-gets-50000-fine) from helmet to helmet contact.
Hits like this one on Austin Collie, which will surely be a fine, should be taken into account. What happens when the offensive players moves mid tackle as the defensive player is already engaging in a tackle? And an even better question: HOW WAS THIS HIT UNNECESSARY roughness??
Thoughts, Comments, Concerns....
I personally LOVE this commercial. I like the way it reminds us that LBJ is just 25 years old, and actually did something that ANYONE in that situation would have done. Play professionally in Cleveland OR Miami? Not even a tough question; REGARDLESS where you're from. I like the shot he took at Charles Barkley. I like him portraying himself as a villain. I like him remembering all the things that have been said about him and attacking those things head on. Hats off to LeBron James.
Next year the Carolina vs. Duke rivalry SHOULD be restored. Hear first hand from the guys who will be playing in the game: Harrison Barnes (UNC) Reggie Bullock (UNC) Kendall Marshall (UNC) and Kyrie Irving (Duke) speak on the rivalry:
Kobe Bryant was asked who would win in a game of 1on1 versus LeBron James; he said he'd win with NO hesitation.
I agree. For all the reasons Kobe stated and more. Kobe is just better. Period. And i also think it's funny that he and Phil are playing these psychological games against LeBron and the Heat. These remarks made by Kobe, and Phil stating that if Chamberlain/Baylor/West couldn't get it done (being the 3 highest scorers in the history of the game) then what makes you think LBJ/DWade/Bosh can do it? Great point.
Fantasy Football is upon us! This is my first year as commissioner and I am THOROUGHLY excited about it! I'm a part of 4 lragues: 2 ESPN and 2 YAHOO.
I've got Tom Brady at QB in 3 of my leagues and one final draft next week; hopefully i'll be able to snab him again.
I have a couple of sleeper picks this year:
SLEEPER PICK: Many times you know the players that will do well week in and week out (i.e.: Brady, Peterson, Favre, A. Johnson, etc.) Some players have potential aren't "Key Guys" so aren't picked up; those are SLEEPER PICKS.
Some of last years sleeper picks: Harvin, Welker, Edelmen, Rice.
This year I'm picking 2 WR's as SLEEPER PICKS:
1. Brandon LaFell: Rookie WR for Carolina Panthers. He will be a great addition to the Running based offense, AND a GREAT compliment for the usually double covered Steve Smith.
2. Greg Camarillo: WR for Minnesota Vikings. The last 2 years this guy was an asset in the slot position for the Miami Dolphins, with a par at best QB in Chad Henne. Now that he has been traded to an injury riddled Vikings team with future Hall of Famer Brett Favre, expect him to be used a lot more. Big catches and numerous TD's.
I have others I will leak throughout the season. Make sure you stay tuned in to Daht's Blog.
